믿음의 선한 싸움을 하라

 

 Faith is what you need. Do not let faith waver.

Fight the good fight of faith and lay hold on eternal life.

It will be a severe fight, but fight it at any cost,

for the promises of God are yea and amen in Christ Jesus.

그대에게 필요한 것은 믿음이다. 믿음이 흔들리지 않도록 하라. 믿음의 선한 싸움을 하고 영생을 취하라. 그것은 처절한 싸움일 것이지만 어떤 대가를 치르더라도 그 싸움을 하라.

이는 하나님의 약속은 그리스도 안에서 “예”가 되고 “아멘”이 되기 때문이다.

 

Put your hand in the hand of Christ.

There are difficulties to be overcome,

but angels that excel in strength will cooperate with the people of God.

Face Zion, press your way to the city of solemnities.

A glorious crown and a robe woven in the loom of heaven await the overcomer.

그대의 손을 내밀어 그리스도의 손을 잡으라.

정복되어야 할 어려움들이 있지만, 능력이 탁월한 천사들이 하나님의 백성들과 협동할 것이다.

얼굴을 시온으로 향하고, 엄숙한 도성으로 매진하라.

영광스러운 면류관과 하늘의 베틀로 짠 두루마기가 이기는 사람을 기다리고 있다.

 

Though Satan would cast his hellish shadow athwart your pathway

and seek to hide from your view the mystic ladder

that stretches from earth to the throne of God,

on which ascend and descend the angels who are ministering spirits

to those who shall be heirs of salvation, yet press your way upward,

plant your feet on one round after another,

and advance to the throne of the Infinite.

사단이 그의 사악한 그림자를 그대의 길에 가로질러 던지고,

땅에서 하나님의 보좌에까지 뻗어 있고, 그 위로는 구원얻을 후사들에게 부리는 영들인 천사들이

오르락내리락 하고 있는 신비한 사닥다리를 보지 못하도록 가리려고 애쓸 것이지만,

그럼에도 위를 향하여 매진하면서 그대의 발을 한 발 한 발 힘차게 내디디고

무한하신 분의 보좌로 나아가라.
