We Must be Much in Prayer

기도를 많이 드려야 한다

 

We must be much in prayer if we would make progress in the divine life.

When the message of truth was first proclaimed, how much we prayed.

How often was the voice of intercession heard in the chamber,

in the barn, in the orchard, or the grove.

 

거룩한 생애에서 향상하려면 기도를 많이 드려야 한다.

진리의 기별이 처음 선포되었을 때 우리는 얼마나 많은 기도를 드렸던가!

얼마나 자주 중보의 음성이 방에서, 헛간에서, 과수원이나 숲속에서 들렸는가.

 

Frequently we spent hours in earnest prayer, two or three together claiming the promise; often the sound of weeping was heard

and then the voice of thanksgiving and the song of praise.

 

빈번히 우리는 열렬한 기도로 여러 시간을 보내고, 두세 사람이 함께 약속을 주장했다. 때때로 우는 소리가 들리고, 감사의 음성과 찬양의 노래도 들렸다.

 

Now the day of God is nearer than when we first believed,

and we should be more earnest, more zealous, and fervent than in those early days.

Our perils are greater now than then.

Souls are more hardened.

We need now to be imbued with the spirit of Christ,

and we should not rest until we receive it. 

 

지금은 하나님의 날이 우리가 처음 믿을 때보다 훨씬 더 가까워졌다.

그러므로 우리는 초창기보다 훨씬 더 열렬하고 열성적이어야 한다.

우리의 위험은 그 당시보다 훨씬 더 크다.

심령들은 더욱 굳어져 있다.

오늘날 우리는 그리스도의 정신으로 물들어야 하며 우리가 그것을 받을 때까지는 쉬지 말아야 한다.
