더 많은 기도가 필요하다

 

진리를 가지고 어떻게 개개인들에게 다가갈 수 있는지 알기 위하여 더 많은 기도가 필요된다.

다 영혼의 구원을 위해 지혜롭게 수고할 수 있는 것은 아니다. 치밀하게 생각해야 할 일이 많다.

주님의 사업에 아무렇게나 착수해서 성공을 기대해서는 안된다.

여호와께서는 지혜가 있는 사람, 생각이 깊은 사람을 필요로 하신다.

예수께서는 방해자가 아니라 동역자를 부르신다.

하나님께서는 영혼의 구원을 위해 필요한 위대한 사업을 행할 수 있는, 바르게 생각하는

지적인 일꾼들을 원하신다.

 

기술자와 법률가들과, 상인들과, 모든 직업인과 전문인들은

그들의 사업에서 최고가 되기 위해 자신들을 교육시킨다.

그리스도를 따르는 사람들이 덜 지혜롭고, 그분의 사업에 종사한다고 공언하면서

활동해야 할 방법과 수단에 대해 무지해서 될 것인가?

영생을 얻는 사업은 모든 세상적인 생각을 초월한다.

 

영혼들을 예수께 인도하기 위해서

인간의 본성에 대한 지식과 인간의 마음에 대한 연구가 있어야만 한다.

진리의 위대한 주제를 가지고 남녀들에게 접근할 수 있는 방법을 알기 위해서는

신중한 생각과 열렬한 기도가 많이 요구된다.

 

영혼을 구원하는데 기도가 말만하는 것보다 더 큰 성과가 있다.

사단은 그대의 뒤를 좇고 있다.

사단은 교활한 대적이며 그대가 일을 하는 중에 당하는 나쁜 정신은 사단이 일으킨 것이다.

사단이 지배하는 자들은 그의 말을 따른다.

만일 그들 눈에서 덮개를 없앤다면 그들은

사단이 그들을 진리로부터 떠나게 하려고 간계를 펴고 있는 것을 볼 수 있을 것이다.

 

영혼을 사단의 궤계에서 구출하는데 있어서 기도가 없이 여러 말을 하는 것보다도

그리스도와 같은 겸손한 기도로 말미암아 훨씬 더 큰 성과를 거둘 것이다.

 

 

Much Prayer Is Needed

Much prayer is needed to know how to approach individuals with truth.

It is not everyone who can labor judiciously for the salvation of souls. There is much close thinking to be done. We must not enter into the Lord’s work haphazard and expect success. The Lord needs men of mind, men of thought. Jesus calls for co-workers, not blunderers. God wants right-thinking and intelligent men to do the great work necessary to the salvation of souls.

Mechanics, lawyers, merchants, men of all trades and professions, educate themselves that they may become masters of their business. Should the followers of Christ be less intelligent, and while professedly engaged in His service be ignorant of the ways and means to be employed? The enterprise of gaining everlasting life is above every earthly consideration. In order to lead souls to Jesus there must be a knowledge of human nature and a study of the human mind. Much careful thought and fervent prayer are required to know how to approach men and women upon the great subject of truth.—(Testimonies for the Church 4:67.)

Prayer Accomplishes More in Soul Winning Than Words Alone—Satan is on your track. He is an artful opponent, and the malignant spirit which you meet in your work is inspired by him. Those whom he controls echo his words. If the veil could be rent away from their eyes, those thus worked would see Satan plying all his arts to win them from the truth. In rescuing souls from his devices, far more will be accomplished by Christlike, humble prayer than by many words without prayer.—(Colporteur Ministry, 81.)
