주께서는 당신의 모든 자녀들이 행복되고 화평하고 순종하기를 원하신다.

 

예수께서 말씀하시기를 "평안을 너희에게 끼치노니 곧 나의 평안을 너희에게 주노라

내가 너희에게 주는 것은 세상이 주는 것 같지 아니하니라

너희는 마음에 근심도 말고 두려워하지도 말라"(요 14:27).

 

"내가 이것을 너희에게 이름은 내 기쁨이 너희 안에 있어

너희 기쁨을 충만하게 하려 함이니라"(요 15:11)고 하셨다.

 

의무의 상도(常道)에서 벗어나서 이기적 동기로써 구하는 행복은

편벽된 것이요 변역하기 쉬운 것이요 일시적인 것이니,

그것이 지나가 버리면 심령은 쓸쓸함과 섭섭함으로 차게 된다.

 

그러나 하나님을 섬기는 일에는 기쁨과 만족이 있다.

그리스도인들은 불안전한 길로 걸어가라고 방임되지 아니하였다.

또 그리스도인은 공연한 후회와 실망 가운데 버린바 되지도 아니하였다.

 

만일 우리가 현세의 낙(樂)을 가지지 못하였을지라도

우리는 내세를 바라봄으로 오히려 즐거움을 얻을 수 있는 것이다.

🌻 Aroma of Life • There Is Joy and Satisfaction in the Service of God 🌻

 

The Lord would have all His sons and daughters happy, peaceful, and obedient.

 

Jesus says, “My peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

 

“These things have I spoken unto you, that My joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.” John 14:27; 15:11.

 

Happiness that is sought from selfish motives, outside of the path of duty, is ill-balanced, fitful, and transitory;

it passes away, and the soul is filled with loneliness and sorrow;

but there is joy and satisfaction in the service of God;

the Christian is not left to walk in uncertain paths;

he is not left to vain regrets and disappointments.

 

If we do not have the pleasures of this life we may still be joyful in looking to the life beyond.
