복음의 진리가 확고부동한 목적을 마련해 줌

우리 각자는 하나님의 말씀의 가르침들에 대한 깊은 통찰력을 가질 필요가 있다.

우리의 마음은 안에서 오는 것이든 밖에서 오는 것이든

온갖 시험과 유혹을 견디고 물리칠 준비가 되어 있어야 한다.

우리는 왜 믿고 있는지, 왜 우리가 주의 편에 서있는지 그 이유를 알아야 한다.

그 진리는 우리의 심령 속에서 경계를 계속하면서 온갖 적들에 대해서 경보를 발하고

우리로 그 적에 맞서서 행동을 취할 준비를 갖추고 있어야 한다.

어두움의 권세자들은 우리에 대해서 포문을 열 것이다.

그리고 무관심하고 부주의한 사람들, 그들의 애정을 세상적인 보화에 두어 온 사람들,

그리고 그분의 백성들을 다루신 하나님의 방법을 이해하려고 애쓰지 않은 모든 사람은

손쉽게 희생당하고 말 것이다.

예수 안에 있는 그 진리에 대한 지식 외에는

어떤 권세도 우리를 확고부동한 사람으로 만들어 주지 못할 것이다.

그러나 이것을 가지면 한 사람이 일천을 쫓고, 두 사람이 일만을 도망치게 만들 수 있다.

Gospel Truth Provides Steadfast Purpose

Every one of us needs to have a deep insight into the teachings of the Word of God. Our minds must be prepared to stand every test and to resist every temptation, whether from without or from within.

We must know why we believe as we do, why we are on the Lord’s side. The truth must keep watch in our hearts, ready to sound an alarm and summon us to action against every foe.

The powers of darkness will open their batteries upon us; and all who are indifferent and careless, who have set their affections on their earthly treasure, and who have not cared to understand God’s dealings with His people will be ready victims.

No power but a knowledge of the truth as it is in Jesus will ever make us steadfast; but with this, one may chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight.
