그분은 항상 가까이 계심

“그러나 인자가 세상에서 죄를 사하는 권세가 있는 줄을 너희로 알게 하려 하노라 하시고

중풍병자에게 말씀하시되 일어나 네 침상을 가지고 집으로 가라 하시니” (마 9:6).

새로운 희망을 가지고 그 병자는 예수님을 바라본다.

그분의 얼굴 표정과 그분의 음성은 어떤 사람과도 같지 않다.

사랑과 능력이 그분이 계신 곳에서 풍겨오는 것 같다.
그 앉은뱅이는 믿음으로 그리스도의 말씀을 붙든다.
그는 의심없이 순종하고자 뜻을 정한다.

그리고 그가 그렇게 하자, 그의 온 몸이 반응을 나타낸다

모든 신경과 근육이 새로운 생명으로 약동하고, 불구가 되었던 그의 사지는 건강하게 움직인다.

그 사람은 제발로 일어서서, 하나님을 찬양하며 다시 찾은 힘을 기뻐하면서

든든하고 거리낌없는 발걸음으로 걸어간다. …

그리스도의 말씀대로 움직일 때, 그는 낫게 되었다

구주께서는 당신의 피로 산 사람들을 굽어보시며,

말할 수 없는 친절과 긍휼로써 “네가 낫고자 하느냐”고 말씀하신다.
그분께서는 그대에게 건전하고 평화로운 마음으로 일어서라고 명령하신다.

그대가 완전히 나았다고 느껴질 때까지 기다리지 말라.
구주의 말씀을 믿어라. 그대의 의지를 그리스도 편에 두라.

그분을 섬기고자 뜻을 세우고 그분의 말씀대로 행동할 때 그대는 힘을 얻을 것이다.

오랫 동안의 방종으로 영과 육을 속박하고 있는 악습과 정욕의 지배가 어떠하든지 간에,

그리스도께서는 거기서 능히 건져 주실 수 있으며, 또한 그렇게 해 주시고자 갈망하신다.
그분께서는 “죄로 죽었던”(엡 2:1) 영혼에게 생명을 나누어 주실 것이다. 

그리스도께서 멀리 떠나 계신다고 결코 생각하지 말라.
그분께서는 언제나 가까이 계신다.

사랑스러운 그분께서는 그대 주위에 계신다.
그분께서 그대에게 발견되기를 바라시는 분으로 알고 그분을 찾아라.

그분께서는 그대가 당신의 옷자락을 만지기를 원하실 뿐만 아니라,

계속적인 교통을 통하여 당신과 동행하기를 바라신다.

He is Always Near

"But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins." So he said to the paralyzed man, "Get up, take your mat and go home." Matthew 9:6. 

With a new hope the sick man looks upon Jesus. The ｅxpression of His countenance, the tones of His voice, are like no other. Love and power seem to breathe from His very presence.
The cripple’s faith takes hold upon Christ’s word. Without question he sets his will to obey, and, as he does this, his whole body responds.

Every nerve and muscle thrills with new life, and healthful action comes to his crippled limbs. Springing to his feet, he goes on his way with firm, free step, praising God and rejoicing in his newfound strength.....
Acting on the word of Christ, he was made whole. 

The Saviour is bending over the purchase of His blood, saying with inexpressible tenderness and pity, “Do you want to get well?” He bids you arise in health and peace.

Do not wait to feel that you are made whole. Believe the Saviour’s word. Put your will on the side of Christ. Will to serve Him, and in acting upon His word you will receive strength.

Whatever may be the evil practice, the master passion which through long indulgence binds both soul and body, Christ is able and longs to deliver. He will impart life to the soul that is “dead in trespasses” (Ephesians 2:1)...

Never feel that Christ is far away. He is always near. His loving presence surrounds you.
Seek Him as one who desires to be found of you.
He desires you not only to touch His garments, but to walk with Him in constant communion.
