위기를 통해 자주 능력의 원천 되시는 분을 주목하게 됨

하나님께서는 사람들에게 그들의 약점을 보여 주시고 능력의 원천을 알려 주시기 위하여 위기를 허락하신다.

그들이 기도하고, 기도하면서 깨어 용감하게 싸운다면, 그들의 약점은 강점이 될 것이다.

야곱의 경험에는 많은 귀중한 교훈이 담겨 있다.

하나님께서는 야곱에게, 승리를 그 자력으로는 결코 얻을 수 없다는 것과,

위로부터 능력을 얻기 위하여 하나님과 더불어 씨름해야 한다는 것을 가르치셨다.

아무도 스스로 자포자기하여 낙심하고 실망할 필요가 없다.

사단이 “너는 절망적인 상태에 놓여 있어. 너는 회복될 가망이 전혀 없어.”라는 잔인한 임시를 가지고

그에게 다가올지 모른다.

그러나 그리스도 안에서 그대에게는 희망이 있다.

하나님께서는 우리 힘으로 승리하라고 명령하지 않으신다.

우리가 당하고 있는 어려움이 심령과 육체를 아무리 억누르고 있을지라도,

그분께서는 우리를 해방시키려고 기다리고 계신다.

Crisis Often Points to Source of Strength

God often brings men to a crisis to show them their own weakness and to point them to the source of strength.

If they pray and watch unto prayer, fighting bravely, their weak points will become their strong points.

Jacob’s experience contains many valuable lessons for us. God taught Jacob that in his own strength he could never gain the victory, that he must wrestle with God for strength from above.

None need abandon themselves to discouragement and despair. Satan may come to you with the cruel suggestion, “Yours is a hopeless case. You are irredeemable.”

But there is hope for you in Christ. God does not bid us overcome in our own strength. He asks us to come close to His side.

Whatever difficulties we labor under, which weight down soul and body, He waits to make us free.
