진정한 교육은 전인적이다.
그것은 자아를 바르게 활용하도록 가르쳐 준다.
그것은 우리로 하여금 뇌와 뼈와 근육과 육체와 정신과 마음을 최선껏 사용할 수 있게 해 준다.
정신적 능력은 보다 높은 권세로서 육체의 왕국을 다스려야 한다.
선천적 식욕과 정욕은 양심과 영적 애정의 지배를 받아야 한다.
그리스도께서는 인류의 선두에 서 계신다.
우리를 그분을 섬기도록 인도하고, 고상하고 거룩한 순결의 길로 인도하시는 것이 그분의 목적이다.
우리는 그분의 놀라운 은혜의 역사를 통하여 그분 안에서 완전하게 되어야 한다.
True education includes the whole being. It teaches the right use of one’s self. It enables us to make the best use of brain, bone, and muscle, of body, mind, and heart.
The faculties of the mind, as the higher powers, are to rule the kingdom of the body. The natural appetites and passions are to be brought under the control of the conscience and the spiritual affections.
Christ stands at the head of humanity, and it is His purpose to lead us, in His service, into high and holy paths of purity.
By the wondrous working of His grace, we are to be made complete in Him.
