마음은 성채(城砦)

신체의 모든 기관은 마음의 종으로 만들어졌다.

마음은 몸의 수도이다.

마음은 사람 전체를 통제한다.

선하건 악하건 우리의 모든 행동은 마음에서 비롯된다.

하나님께 경배하고 우리로 하여금 하늘의 존재들과 동맹을 맺어주는 것은 마음이다.

그럼에도 많은 사람들은 이 보화를 담고 있는 작은 보석 상자에 관하여 명확하게 알지 못한 채 살아가고 있다.

오늘날 많은 병약자 가운데 그들의 경험이 믿을 만 하지 않다는 것을 확신할 수 없기 때문에

항상 병약한 채로 살아갈 사람들이 있다.

뇌는 신체의 중추요 모든 신경 세력들과 정신적 행동의 중심지이다.

뇌에서 흘러나오는 신경들은 신체를 통제한다.

뇌신경으로 말미암아 정신적 인상들이 전선으로 전달되듯이 신체의 모든 신경으로 전달된다.

그리고 그것들은 신체의 모든 부분의 중요한 행동을 통제한다.

활동 중인 모든 기관들은 그들이 뇌로부터 받은 통신에 의해 통제되고 있다.

온몸과 교통하는 뇌신경은

하나님께서 사람과 교통하며 그의 깊숙한 내적 생애에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 유일한 매개체이다.

Mind, the Citadel

Every organ of the body was made to be servant to the mind. The mind is the capital of the body.

The mind controls the whole man. All our actions, good or bad, have their source in the mind. It is the mind that worships God and allies us to heavenly beings.

Yet many spend all their lives without becoming intelligent in regard to the casket [jewel case] that contains this treasure.

There are many invalids today who will ever remain so because they cannot be convinced that their experience is not reliable.

The brain is the capital of the body, the seat of all the nervous forces and of mental action. The nerves proceeding from the brain control the body.

By the brain nerves, mental impressions are conveyed to all the nerves of the body as by telegraph wires, and they control the vital action of every part of the system.

All the organs of motion are governed by the communications they receive from the brain.

The brain nerves which communicate with the entire system are the only medium through which Heaven can communicate to man and affect his inmost life.
