우리는 겸손하고 성실한 남녀들이 되어야 한다

모든 인간적인 야망, 모든 자랑거리는 티끌 속으로 들어가야 한다.

자아, 죄 많은 자아는 낮추어져야 하고 높여져서는 안 된다. 

매일의 생애에서 우리는 거룩함에 의하여 그리스도를 우리 주변에 있는 자들에게 나타내야 한다.

타락한 인간의 본성은 정복당해야지 높여져서는 안 된다.

그렇게 함으로써 우리는 정결하고 더러움이 없게 된다. 

우리는 겸손하고 성실한 남녀들이 되어야 한다.

우리는 결코 재판석에 앉아서는 안 된다.

하나님께서는 당신을 대표하는 자들이 정결하고 거룩하게 되어 성화의 아름다움을 나타내기를 바라신다. 

성령께서 자유롭게 교통하기 위해서는 언제나 통로가 막히지 않아야 한다.

그렇지 않으면 어떤 사람들은

그리스도인 품성의 완성을 위하여 육신의 마음속에서 이루어져야 할 사업을 그럴싸하게 얼버무릴 것이다.

그리하여 그들은 영원한 보좌처럼 변치 않는 하나님의 진리를 무효로 만들어 버리는 그런 방법으로

그들 자신의 불완전을 나타낼 것이다. 

그러므로 하나님께서는 당신의 파수꾼들에게 위험 신호를 높이 들도록 요구하시는 한편,

동시에 그들이 구원을 받기 위하여 어떠한 사람이 되어야 하고 어떤 행동을 해야 할 것인지에 대하여

하나의 모본으로서 구주의 생애를 그들 앞에 제시하신다.

We are to be Humble, Faithful Men and Women

“All human ambition, all boasting, is to be laid in the dust. Self, sinful self, is to be abased, not exalted. 

By holiness in the daily life we are to reveal Christ to those around us. Corrupt human nature is to be subdued, not exalted. Thus only can we become pure and undefiled. 

We are to be humble, faithful men and women. Never are we to sit upon the judgment seat. God demands that His representatives shall be pure and holy, revealing the beauty of sanctification. 

The channel is always to remain unobstructed, that the Holy Spirit may have free course; otherwise some will gloss over the work that must be done in the natural heart in order to perfect Christian character; and they will present their own imperfections in such a way as to make of no effect God’s truth, which is as steadfast as the eternal throne. 

And while God calls upon His watchmen to lift the danger signal, at the same time He presents before them the life of the Saviour as an example of what they must be and do in order to be saved.
