인간의 불행과 고통의 바닥에까지 접근하고자 노력할 때

잔치에 손님을 초대하는 말씀을 읽고, 마지막 초청을 하도록 하라.

예수님의 명령을 수행하기 위하여 어떤 일이 이루어지고 있는지 연구하라. 

나는 왜 그러한 무관심이 나타나고 있는지,

왜 그대들이 멀리 서서 비판하고 동떨어져 있어야 하는지 이해할 수가 없다.

복음의 그물은 바다 가운데 던져져 좋은 것이든 좋지 못한 것이든 끌어올려야 한다.

......

주께서 교회들을 다니시면서 어떤 특정한 사업을 하도록 그들에게 명령하시지만

그들은 그 일을 하기를 거절한다. 

그러나 인간의 노력을 하나님의 노력과 연합시킨 어떤 사람들이

바로 인간의 불행과 고통의 바닥에까지 접근하고자 노력할 때,

하나님의 축복이 그들에게 풍성하게 임할 것이다. 

비록 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 은혜를 받아들이는 자들이 소수에 불과할지라도

그들의 사업은 허지로 돌아가지 않을 것이다.

왜냐하면 하나님의 눈에는 한 영혼이 귀중하고도 매우 귀중하기 때문이다. 

그리스도께서는 그 한 사람이 영원한 시대를 통하여 살게 하고자 그 한 영혼을 위해서도 돌아가셨을 것이다.

When Some Endeavor to Reach to the Very Depths of Human Woe and Misery

Please read the invitation to the supper, and the last call to be made. Study what is being done to meet the command of Jesus. 

I cannot understand why such indifference is manifested, why you should stand afar off and criticize and draw away.

The gospel net is to be cast into the sea, and it draws both good and bad. 

......

When the Lord moves upon the churches, bidding them do a certain work, and they refuse to do that work; and when some, their human efforts united with the divine, endeavor to reach to the very depths of human woe and misery, God’s blessing will rest richly upon them. 

Even though but few accept the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, their work will not be in vain; for one soul is precious, very precious, in the sight of God. 

Christ would have died for one soul in order that that one might live through the eternal ages.
