기도는 죄를 대항하여 성공하는 하늘의 계획이다

하나님의 계명을 순종하려고 분투하지만 평안과 기쁨을 누리지 못하는 사람들이 많다.

그들의 경험에서의 이러한 결핍은 믿음을 활용하지 못해서 생긴 결과이다. 

그들은 마치 소금 땅과 바싹 마른 황야를 걷는 것처럼 걸어간다. 

그들은 많은 것을 요구할 수 있는데도 적게 요구한다. 

왜냐하면 하나님의 약속들에는 제한이 없기 때문이다.

이와 같은 사람들은 진리를 순종함으로 오는 성화를 올바르게 나타내지 못한다. 

주께서는 당신의 자녀들이 모두 행복하고 평화스럽고 순종하기를 원하신다.

신자들은 믿음을 활용함으로써 이런 축복들을 누리게 된다. 
믿음을 통하여 품성의 모든 결점은 보충될 수 있고 모든 더러움은 정결하게 되고

모든 과오들은 시정되고 모든 미덕은 계발될 수 있다.

기도는 죄악과의 투쟁과 그리스도인적 품성의 계발에 있어서 하늘이 정하신 성공의 방법이다. 
믿음으로 하는 기도에 대한 응답으로 오는 거룩한 감화는

탄원자의 마음에 그가 탄원하는 모든 것을 성취시킬 것이다. 

우리는 죄의 용서를 위하여, 성령을 위하여, 그리스도와 같은 성품을 위하여,

당신의 사업을 할 수 있는 지혜와 능력을 위하여, 그가 약속하신 어떠한 선물을 위해서도 간구할 수 있다.

하나님의 약속은 “(너희가)받으리라”이다.

Prayer Is Heaven’s Plan for Success Against Sin

There are many who, though striving to obey God’s commandments, have little peace or joy.
This lack in their experience is the result of a failure to exercise faith. 
They walk as it were in a salt land, a parched wilderness. 

They claim little, when they might claim much; for there is no limit to the promises of God.
Such ones do not correctly represent the sanctification that comes through obedience to the truth. 

The Lord would have all His sons and daughters happy, peaceful, and obedient. Through the exercise of faith the believer comes into possession of these blessings.
Through faith, every deficiency of character may be supplied, every defilement cleansed, every fault corrected, every excellence developed. 

Prayer is heaven’s ordained means of success in the conflict with sin and the development of Christian character. 
The divine influences that come in answer to the prayer of faith will accomplish in the soul of the suppliant all for which he pleads. 

For the pardon of sin, for the Holy Spirit, for a Christlike temper, for wisdom and strength to do His work, for any gift He has promised, we may ask; and the promise is, “Ye shall receive.”
