낙담을 말하는 것에 대해서는 어떤 핑계도 있을 수 없음

“그[아버지]가 우리를 흑암의 세력에서 건져 내사 그의 사랑의 아들의 나라로 옮기셨으니”(골 1: 13).

이것이 사실일진대, 우리 주위로 어둠을 외투처럼 끌어오듯이 실망과 불신과 의심의 말을 한다면

우리는 어떤 핑계를 댈 수 있겠는가?

어두운 의심의 그림자를 다시 물리치고

모든 의심과 낙담의 창시자인 사단이 그것을 걸머지도록 그것을 걷어버리자.

그는 사악한 그림자를 우리의 길에 던져 놓으려고 노력하고 있다.

우리는 믿음으로 검은 의심과 불신의 구름을 꿰뚫고 나와 그 너머에 있는 그리스도의 팔을 붙들어야 한다.

사단이 나의 길 위에 악마의 그림자를 드리울 때에,

나는 그것을 바라보거나 그것에 대해 말하거나 그와 그의 능력에 대해서

그리고 내가 얼마나 힘든 시간을 보내고 있는지에 대해 말함으로써 마귀를 영화롭게 하지 않는다.

나는 결코 그렇게 하지 않는다.

나는 곧바로 그 그림자를 가르고 나와 믿음으로 예수 그리스도를 붙잡는다.

바라봄으로써 우리는 “그와 같은 형상으로 변하여 영광에서 영광에 이”른다.

믿음을 말하라.

그대가 표현하는 모든 의심은 뿌려진 씨앗이며, 그 씨는 어떤 이의 마음 가운데 뿌리를 내릴 것이다.

우리는 단 한 마디의 의심이라도 말하여

그대를 복종 상태 아래 붙잡아 둘 마귀의 놀라운 능력을 인하여 그를 찬양하기를 원치 않는다.

그렇지 않다. 그리스도께서는 나를 사셨으며 속량하셨다.

사단은 나를 주관할 아무런 권세도 없다.

No Excuse for Talking Discouragement

“The Father hath delivered us from the power of darkness” (Colossians 1:13). If this is true, what excuse then have we for talking discouragement and unbelief and doubt—drawing darkness around us as a mantle?

Let us roll back the dark shadow of doubt, casting it aside to be borne by Satan, the originator of all doubt and discouragement. He is seeking to cast his hellish shadow across our pathway. Our faith must penetrate the dark cloud of doubt and unbelief, taking hold of the arm of Christ beyond.

When Satan casts his hellish shadow athwart my pathway, I do not look at it or talk of it and glorify the devil by talking of him and his power and what a hard time I am having. No, I cleave right through the shadow, and by faith take hold of Jesus Christ.

By beholding we “are changed into the same image from glory to glory.” Talk faith. Every doubt you express is a seed sown, and that seed will take root in some heart.

We do not want to speak one word of doubt and thus praise the devil for his wonderful power to keep you in subjection. No, Christ has purchased me and redeemed me. Satan has no power over me.
