사탄을 저항하기 위해 매일 필요되는 기도

성화는 한순간, 한 시간, 혹은 하루의 과업이 아니다.

그것은 은혜 안에서의 계속적인 성장이다. 

우리는 다음번에 올 투쟁이 얼마나 강할 것인지 알지 못한다. 

사탄은 살아 있고 활동적이므로,

우리는 그를 저항하기 위한 도움과 힘을 얻기 위하여 매일 하나님께 열렬히 부르짖을 필요가 있다. 

우리에게는 굴복시켜야 할 자아와 극복해야 할 약점이 있다.

그러므로 정지해 있을 장소는 없고, 우리가 도달하여 완전히 얻었다고 할 수 있는 지점도 없다.

하나님께서 우리에게 육신의 축복과 영적 축복을 막론하고

필요한 것을 매일 구하도록 가르치시는 것은 목적이 있기 때문이며

우리의 유익을 위하여 그것을 성취시키실 것이다. 

그분께서는 우리가 당신의 변함없는 보호하심에 의존해야 한다는 것을 깨닫기를 바라시는데,

그것은 우리를 이끌어 내어 친히 교제하기를 원하시는 까닭이다. 

우리는 기도와, 하나님의 말씀이 가지고 있는 위대하고 귀중한 진리의 연구를 통하여

그리스도와 이런 교제를 나눔으로써 굶주린 영혼처럼 배부름을 얻고,

목마른 자들처럼 생명의 샘에서 생기를 회복하게 될 것이다.

Prayer Needed Daily to Resist Satan

Sanctification is not the work of a moment, an hour, or a day. It is a continual growth in grace. 

We know not one day how strong will be our conflict the next. Satan lives, and is active, and every day we need to cry earnestly to God for help and strength to resist him. 

As long as Satan reigns we shall have self to subdue, besetments to overcome, and there is no stopping place, there is no point to which we can come and say we have fully attained.

In teaching us to ask every day for what we need—both temporal and spiritual blessings—God has a purpose to accomplish for our good. 

He would have us realize our dependence upon His constant care, for He is seeking to draw us into communion with Himself. 

In this communion with Christ, through prayer and the study of the great and precious truths of His word, we shall as hungry souls be fed; as those that thirst, we shall be refreshed at the fountain of life.
