주 안에서 기뻐함 2

“내 아버지께 복 받을 자들이여

나아와 창세로부터 너희를 위하여 예비된 나라를 상속하라”(마 25:34)

그 때에 구속함을 받은 자들은 예수께서 저희를 위하여 예비하신 나라로 맞아들임을 받게 될 것이다. 
거기서 저희가 사귈 동무들은

이 땅의 비열한 자, 거짓말하는 자, 우상 숭배자, 더러운 자, 믿지 않는 자들이 아닐 것이다. 
저희는 사탄을 이기고 하나님의 도움으로 완전한 품성을 형성한 자들로 더불어 교제하게 될 것이다. 

이 세상에서 저희를 괴롭게 하는 모든 죄의 습관, 모든 불완전한 것이

그리스도의 피로 말미암아 완전히 제거되고

태양의 광선보다 훨씬 뛰어난 아름답고 광채나는 당신의 영광을 저희에게 나누어 주게 될 것이다. 
그리고 그의 품성의 완전하심, 즉 도덕적 미(美)가 저들을 통하여 빛날 것이니

그 가치는 이 세상의 외관상 화려보다 훨씬 뛰어날 것이다. 
저들은 하나님의 흰 보좌 앞에 허물이 없는 자로 천사의 권위와 특권을 누릴 것이다.

사람이 가질 수 있는 영광스러운 유업을 생각할 때에 “사람이 무엇을 주고 제 목숨을 바꾸겠느냐” (마 16:26). 비록 그는 가난할지라도 그 자신에게 세상이 도무지 줄 수 없는 부요와 위엄을 가지고 있는 것이다. 

죄에서 구속함을 받아 정결케 되고 자기의 온갖 고상한 능력을 하나님께로 바친 그 사람은

지극히 가치 있는 것이다. 
그리고 한 사람이 회개할 때에 하늘에서는 하나님의 거룩한 천사들 앞에서 기쁨이 있나니

이 기쁨은 거룩한 승리의 노래로 표시되는 기쁨이다.

Rejoicing in the Lord 2

“Come, ye blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.” Matthew 25:34.

Then the redeemed will be welcomed to the home that Jesus is preparing for them. 
There their companions will not be the vile of earth, liars, idolaters, the impure, and unbelieving; but they will associate with those who have overcome Satan and through divine grace have formed perfect characters. 

Every sinful tendency, every imperfection, that afflicts them here has been removed by the blood of Christ, and the excellence and brightness of His glory, far exceeding the brightness of the sun, is imparted to them. 
And the moral beauty, the perfection of His character, shines through them, in worth far exceeding this outward splendor. 
They are without fault before the great white throne, sharing the dignity and the privileges of the angels.

In view of the glorious inheritance that may be his, 
“what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” Matthew 16:26. 
He may be poor, yet he possesses in himself a wealth and dignity that the world could never bestow. 

The soul redeemed and cleansed from sin, with all its noble powers dedicated to the service of God, is of surpassing worth; and there is joy in heaven in the presence of God and the holy angels over one soul redeemed, a joy that is expressed in songs of holy triumph.
