의지는 성공의 열쇠

의의 편에 서서 싸우는 사람은 모두 다 원수와 육박전을 전개하지 않으면 안 된다. 
그는 마귀의 궤계를 능히 대적하기 위하여 하나님의 전신 갑주를 입어야 한다.

많은 사람들이 무서운 유혹의 힘, 곧 방종으로 빠져 들어가는 욕망의 힘을 깨닫고서

절망 중에 “나는 악을 저항할 수 없다”고 부르짖는다. 

그에게 악을 저항할 수 있다는 것과 반드시 저항해야 한다는 것을 말해 주라.

그는 거듭거듭 정복당하였을지도 모른다. 그러나 언제나 그렇게 될 필요는 없다. 
그는 죄악 생활의 습관에 지배된 나머지 도덕적 능력이 약하다. 

그의 약속과 결심은 마치 썩은 새끼와 같다.

그가 약속을 깨뜨리고 서약을 어긴 것을 알므로 그는 자신의 성실성에 대한 확신이 약해지고,

하나님께서 자기를 받아 주시거나 그와 함께 역사하실 수 없다고 생각한다. 
그러나 그는 절망할 필요가 없다
...
하나님께서는 우리의 유한한 힘으로 악과 싸우도록 우리를 버려두지 않으셨다. 
우리의 선천적 혹은 후천적 성격이 아무리 그릇되게 이루어져 있을지라도

우리는 그분께서 주시고자 마련해 주신 능력을 통하여 승리할 수 있다

The Will the Key to Success

Everyone who fights on the side of right, must fight hand to hand with the enemy. 
He must put on the whole armor of God, that he may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Feeling the terrible power of temptation, the drawing of desire that leads to indulgence, many a man cries in despair, “I cannot resist evil.” 

Tell him that he can, that he must resist. He may have been overcome again and again, but it need not be always thus. 
He is weak in moral power, controlled by the habits of a life of sin. 

His promises and resolutions are like ropes of sand. The knowledge of his broken promises and forfeited pledges weakens his confidence in his own sincerity, and causes him to feel that God cannot accept him or work with his efforts. 
But he need not despair.

God has not left us to battle with evil in our own finite strength. 
Whatever may be our inherited or cultivated tendencies to wrong, we can overcome through the power that He is ready to impart.
