하나님의 약속을 놓지 말라

진실한 마음으로 하나님께 나아와 자신의 진정한 소원을 믿음으로 구하는 모든 성도들은

기도의 응답을 받게 될 것이다. 

그대의 기도에 즉각적인 응답을 얻지 못하거나 느끼지 못할지라도,

그대의 믿음은 하나님의 약속을 놓지 말아야 한다. 

하나님을 신뢰하기를 두려워하지 말라. 

“구하라 그리하면 받으리”(요 16:24)라는 하나님의 분명한 약속을 신뢰하라.

하나님은 너무도 지혜로우시므로 실수하지 않으시며,

너무도 선하시므로 정직하게 행하는 당신의 성도들에게 좋은 것을 주지 않고 남겨 두지 않으신다. 

사람은 실수가 많으므로, 비록 정직한 마음으로 소원을 아뢰었을지라도,

언제나 자신에게 유익한 것이나 하나님께 영광이 될 것만을 구하지 않는다. 

이런 경우에, 지혜롭고 선량하신 우리의 하늘 아버지께서는 우리의 기도를 들으시고,

때로는 즉시 응답해 주실 것이다. 

그러나 그분께서는 우리 자신의 유익과 당신의 영광을 위하여 최선의 것을 우리에게 주신다

하나님께서는 우리에게 복을 주신다. 

만일, 우리가 그분의 계획을 살펴볼 수 있다면,

우리는 그분께서 우리에게 가장 유익이 되는 것을 아시고 우리의 기도를 응답해 주신다는 사실을

분명히 깨닫게 될 것이다. 

손해가 될 것은 아무것도 주어지지 않고,

우리가 구했을지라도 우리에게 유익이 되지 않고 손해가 될 어떤 것 대신에

우리에게 필요한 축복만이 주어진다.

나는 우리의 기도에 응답이 즉시 주어지지 않을지라도 믿음을 굳게 붙들고,

불신이 들어오도록 허용하지 말아야 할 것을 보았다.

그렇게 되면 우리가 하나님께로부터 분리될 것이기 때문이다. 

아무것도 받지 못할 것이다. 

하나님을 믿는 우리의 확신은 강해야 한다.

그리하면, 가장 필요할 때에 축복이 소나기처럼 쏟아질 것이다.

Do Not Let Go of God’s Promises

Every saint who comes to God with a true heart, and sends his honest petitions to Him in faith, will have his prayers answered. 

Your faith must not let go of the promises of God, if you do not see or feel the immediate answer to your prayers. 

Be not afraid to trust God. 

Rely upon His sure promise: 

“Ask, and ye shall receive.” God is too wise to err, and too good to withhold any good thing from His saints that walk uprightly. 

Man is erring, and although his petitions are sent up from an honest heart, he does not always ask for the things that are good for himself, or that will glorify God. 

When this is so, our wise and good Father hears our prayers, and will answer, sometimes immediately; but He gives us the things that are for our best good and His own glory. 

God gives us blessings; if we could look into His plan, we would clearly see that He knows what is best for us and that our prayers are answered. 

Nothing hurtful is given, but the blessing we need, in the place of something we asked for that would not be good for us, but to our hurt. 

I saw that if we do not feel immediate answers to our prayers, we should hold fast our faith, not allowing distrust to come in, for that will separate us from God. 

If our faith wavers, we shall receive nothing from Him. 

Our confidence in God should be strong; and when we need it most, the blessing will fall upon us like a shower of rain.
