유혹당할 때의 기도

우리의 하늘 아버지께서는 얼마나 은혜롭고 부드럽게 당신의 자녀를 대하시는가! 
그분은 그들이 멸망하지 않도록, 그들에게는 보이지 않는 수천의 위험으로부터 그들을 보호하시며,

사탄의 교묘한 수단으로부터 그들을 지키신다. 

천사를 통한 하나님의 보호하심이 우리의 둔한 시력에 보이지 않기 때문에,

우리는 부드럽고 자애로우신 창조주께서 그분의 손으로 하시는 사업에 나타난

그분의 끊임없이 돌보시는 관심을 깊이 생각하거나 감사하려 하지 않으며,

그분이 매일 우리에게 베푸시는 자비의 풍성함을 고맙게 생각하지 않는다.

청년들은 그들이 매일 접하는 많은 위험들에 대해 무지하다. 그

들은 그 모든 위험들을 결코 완전히 알 수 없다. 

만일 그들이 깨어 있고 기도한다면, 하나님께서 그들의 양심을 민감하게 하고, 그들의 지각을 밝게 하셔서,

그들로 하여금 원수의 역사를 분별하고 그의 공격에 대하여 방비가 되게 하실 것이다......

청년들은 오로지 끊임없는 경성과 겸손한 기도를 통해서만 안전하게 된다...

... 유혹에 빠지지 않도록 기도할 때, 그대들의 할 일이 기도로만 끝나지 않음을 기억하라. 
유혹을 대항함으로써 그대들은 할 수 있는대로 그대들 자신의 기도에 반응해야 하며,

그대들의 혼자 힘으로 할 수 없는 것들은 예수께서 그대들을 위하여 해 주시도록 그분께 맡겨야 한다. 

그대들은 원수가 유혹하지 못하도록 그대들의 말과 행동을 아무리 조심해도 지나칠 수 없다......

하나님의 말씀을 우리의 안내자로 삼고 예수님을 우리의 하늘 교사로 모시면,

우리는 그분의 요구와 사탄의 책략에 무지하거나 그의 유혹에 정복당할 필요가 없다. 

우리가 성령에 의해 지도되도록 우리 자신을 온전히 바치면,

하나님의 뜻에 순종하는 일이 불유쾌한 일이 되지 않을 것이다.

The Power of Prayer in Temptation

How graciously and tenderly our heavenly Father deals with His children! 
He preserves them from a thousand dangers to them unseen and guards them from the subtle arts of Satan, lest they should be destroyed. 

Because the protecting care of God through His angels is not seen by our dull vision, we do not try to contemplate and appreciate the ever-watchful interest that our kind and benevolent Creator has in the work of His hands; and we are not grateful for the multitude of mercies that He daily bestows upon us. 

The young are ignorant of the many dangers to which they are daily exposed. 
They can never fully know them all; but if they are watchful and prayerful, God will keep their consciences sensitive and their perceptions clear, that they may discern the workings of the enemy and be fortified against his attacks.

If the youth could only awake to deeply feel their need of strength from God to resist the temptations of Satan..

The daily study of the precious words of life found in the Bible strengthens the intellect and furnishes a knowledge of the grand and glorious works of God in nature. 

Through the study of the Scriptures we obtain a correct knowledge of how to live so as to enjoy the greatest amount of unalloyed happiness. 

Those who have searched the Scriptures may ever be fortified against the temptations of Satan; they may be thoroughly furnished to all good works and prepared to give to every man that asketh them a reason of the hope that is in them.

With God’s word for our guide and Jesus as our heavenly Teacher we need not be ignorant of His requirements or of Satan’s devices and be overcome by his temptations.

It will be no unpleasant task to be obedient to the will of God when we yield ourselves fully to be directed by His Spirit.
