영혼으로 들어가는 통로를 지키라

 

악한 상상과 끊임없이 싸우므로 안전함―

신의 성품에 참 여하기를 갈망하는 모든 사람은 

정욕을 인하여 세상에서 썩어질 것을 피하여야 한다는 사실을 이해해야 한다. 

마음의 악한 상상들과 끊임없고 열렬한 영혼의 투쟁을 해야 한다. 

생각이나 행동으로 죄를 지으라는 유혹에 꿋꿋이 저항해야 한다. 

영혼은 우리를 넘어짐에서 보호하시는 그분을 믿으므로 모든 오점에서 보호되어야만 한다.

... 사도는 마음이 그릇된 길에 빠져 금지된 길에 빠져 금지된  문제들로 향하거나 

사소한 문제들에 그 정력을 낭비하지  않도록 지키는 일이 얼마나 중대한지를 

신도들에게 가르치 려고 애썼다. 

사단의 간계에 빠지기를 원치 않는 사람들은 

영혼의 통로를 잘 지켜 불순한 생각을 일으킬 것은 읽거나 보거나  듣지 않아야 한다.

마음은 영혼의 원수가 제시하는 모든 주제를 닥치는 대로  생각하도록 버려 두어서는 안 된다.

마음은 충실히 지켜져야 한다. 

그렇지 않으면 밖에 있는  악이 속에 있는 악을 일깨워 영혼은 어둠 속에서 방황할  것이다.

Guard the Avenues to the Soul

Security in Constant Struggle Against Evil Imaginings—Let everyone who desires to be a partaker of the divine nature appreciate the fact that he must escape the corruption that is in the world through lust. 

There must be a constant, earnest struggling of the soul against the evil imaginings of the mind. There must be a steadfast resistance of temptation to sin in thought or act. 

The soul must be kept from every stain, through faith in Him who is able to keep you from falling…

... The apostle sought to teach the believers how important it is to keep the mind from wandering to forbidden themes or from spending its energies on trifling subjects. 

Those who would not fall a prey to Satan’s devices must guard well the avenues of the soul; they must avoid reading, seeing, or hearing that which will suggest impure thoughts. 

The mind must not be left to dwell at random upon every subject that the enemy of souls may suggest.

The heart must be faithfully sentineled, or evils without will awaken evils within, and the soul will wander in darkness.
