치료의 근원

 

하나님께서는 그리스도의 선물을 통하여

우리에게 도달할 수 있는 길을 열어 주신 완전한 표준에까지 이르기를 바라신다. 

그분께서는 우리로 하여금 올바른 길을 선택하여

하늘의 능력과 연결되고 우리 속에 하나님의 형상이 회복될 수 있는 원칙을 적용하도록 요구하신다. 

그분께서는 당신의 기록된 말씀과 천연계의 위대한 책을 통하여 생명의 법칙을 계시하셨다. 

그 원칙에 대한 지식을 얻고, 그 원칙에 순종함으로

심령의 건강은 물론이요 육체의 건강을 회복하는 일에 있어서 그분과 협력하는 것이 우리의 과업이다...

 

복음을 순결하고 능력 있는 그대로 받아들일 때, 그것은 죄 때문에 생긴 질병을 고쳐 주는 치료제가 된다. 

의의 태양은 “치료하는 광선”을 가지고 떠오르게 된다(말 4:2). 

이 세상이 주는 모든 것은

상한 심령을 고쳐 주고, 마음에 평안을 주고, 걱정을 없애고, 질병을 없애줄 수 없다. 

명성, 천재적 재능, 능력, 그 모든 것들은

근심에 눌린 마음을 기쁘게 해 주거나 허물어진 생애를 회복시켜 주는 일에 무력하다. 

심령 속에 있는 하나님의 생명이 사람의 유일한 희망이다.

 

그리스도께서 온 몸을 통하여 나누어 주시는 사랑은 하나의 생명력이며

뇌, 심장, 신경 등과 같은 모든 중요한 부분은 치료하는 일을 촉진시킨다. 

그것에 의하여 사람의 최고의 능력들이 활동하게 된다. 

그것은 생명력을 파멸시키는 죄책감과 슬픔, 근심과 걱정에서 심령을 해방시켜 준다. 

거기에서 평온과 안정(安靜)이 온다. 

그것은 어떤 세속적인 것이 파괴할 수 없는 기쁨,

곧 성령 안에 있는 기쁨, 건강을 주고 생명을 주는 기쁨을 심령 속에 심어 준다.

 

“내게로 오라 내가 너희를 쉬게 하리라”고 하신 우리 구주의 말씀은

육체적, 정신적, 영적 질병을 치료하는 처방이다. 

비록 사람들이 그들의 잘못으로 고통을 자기 자신에게 초래하였을지라도

그분께서는 그들을 불쌍히 여기신다. 

그들은 그분 안에서 도움을 찾을 수 있다. 

그분께서는 당신을 신뢰하는 사람들을 위하여 큰 일을 행하실 것이다. 

 

 

The Source of Healing

 

God desires us to reach the standard of perfection

made possible for us by the gift of Christ.

He calls upon us to make our choice on the right side,

to connect with heavenly agencies,

to adopt principles that will restore in us the divine image.

In His written word and in the great book of nature He has revealed of the principles of life. It is our work to obtain a knowledge of these principles,

and by obedience to co-operate with Him in restoring health to the body

as well as to the soul…

 

When the gospel is received in its purity and power,

it is a cure for the maladies that originated in sin.

The Sun of Righteousness arises, "with healing in His wings." Malachi 4:2.

Not all this world bestows can heal a broken heart, or impart peace of mind,

or remove care, or banish disease.

Fame, genius, talent--all

are powerless to gladden the sorrowful heart or to restore the wasted life.

The life of God in the soul is man's only hope.

 

The love which Christ diffuses through the whole being is a vitalizing power.

Every vital part--the brain, the heart, the nerves--it touches with healing.

By it the highest energies of the being are roused to activity.

It frees the soul from the guilt and sorrow, the anxiety and care, that crush the life forces. With it come serenity and composure.

It implants in the soul, joy that nothing earthly can destroy,

--joy in the Holy Spirit,--health-giving, life-giving joy.
