성경 연구의 필요성

 

No renewed heart can be kept in a condition of sweetness

without the daily application of the salt of the Word.

Divine grace must be received daily, or no man will stay converted.

 

비록 새롭게 된 심령이라 할지라도

매일 말씀의 소금을 적용하지 않으면 그 아름다운 상태를 계속 유지할 수가 없다.

매일 하늘의 은혜를 공급받아야 하며

그렇게 하지 않을 때 아무도 회심한 상태를 지속하지 못할 것이다.

 

Let your faith be substantiated by the Word of God.

Grasp firmly the living testimony of truth.

Have faith in Christ as a personal Savior.

He has been and ever will be our Rock of Ages.

 

그대들의 신앙은 하나님의 말씀에 의해 실체화되어야 한다.

진리의 산 증언을 굳게 붙들라.

그리스도를 개인의 구주로 믿는 믿음을 가지라.

주님께서는 지금까지도 그러하셨고 앞으로도 언제나 우리의 만세 반석이 되실 것이다.

 

Christians should be preparing for

what is soon to break upon the world as an overwhelming surprise,

and this preparation they should make by diligently studying the Word of God

and striving to conform their lives to its precepts.

 

그리스도인들은 세상에 곧 일어날 놀라운 일을 위하여 준비하여야 하며,

이 준비는 하나님의 말씀을 부지런히 연구하고

그 계명에 저희 생애를 일치시키려고 노력함으로써 해야 한다.

 

None but those who have fortified the mind with the truths of the Bible

will stand through the last great conflict.

 

성경의 진리로 그 마음을 견고히 한 자들 밖에는 최후의 대쟁투를 견딜 자가 없다.

 

Only those who have been diligent students of the Scriptures

and who have received the love of the truth

will be shielded from the powerful delusion that takes the world captive.

 

오직 성경을 열심으로 연구하고 진리에 대한 사랑을 가진 자들만이

온 세계를 미혹시키는 속임에서 벗어날 수가 있다.

 

Our people need to understand the oracles of God;

they need to have a systematic knowledge of the principles of revealed truth,

which will fit them for what is coming upon the earth

and prevent them from being carried about by every wind of doctrine.

 

우리의 백성들은 하나님의 명령을 이해할 필요가 있다.

그들은 계시된 진리의 원칙을 조직적으로 알아야 할 필요가 있는데

그 원칙은 세상에 다가올 사건에 대처할 수 있게 해주고

그들이 모든 교훈의 풍조에 밀려 다니지 않도록 방어해 줄 것이다.
