그리스도 안에 확고하게 뿌리내림

 

The storm is coming, the storm that will try every man’s faith of what sort it is.

Believers must now be firmly rooted in Christ

or else they will be led astray by some phase of error.

 

폭풍은 다가오고 있으며 그 폭풍은 각자가 어떤 종류의 믿음을 가졌는지 시험할 것이다.

신자들은 그리스도 안에 굳게 뿌리가 박혀야 한다.

그렇지 않으면 그들은 혹종의 오류에 휩쓸려 길을 잃게 될 것이다.

 

It would be well for us

to spend a thoughtful hour each day in contemplation of the life of Christ.

We should take it point by point

and let the imagination grasp each scene, especially the closing ones.

 

우리가 그리스도의 생애를 깊이 묵상하는 데 매일 한 시간을 바치는 것은 매우 좋은 일이다.

우리는 그의 생애를 한조목 한조목씩 연구하고,

각 장면 특히 그의 생애의 마지막 장면을 확실히 머리 속에 그릴 것이다.

 

The only defense against evil

is the indwelling of Christ in the heart through faith in His righteousness.

 

Unless we become vitally connected with God,

we can never resist the unhallowed effects of self-love, self-indulgence,

and temptation to sin.

 

We may leave off many bad habits, for the time we may part company with Satan;

but without a vital connection with God,

through the surrender of ourselves to Him moment by moment, we shall be overcome.

 

Without a personal acquaintance with Christ, and a continual communion,

we are at the mercy of the enemy, and shall do his bidding in the end.

 

악에 대한 유일한 방어는

그리스도의 의를 믿음으로 말미암아 그분을 마음속에 내재시키는 것이다.

 

하나님과 산 연결을 맺지 아니하면

우리는 결코 자기를 사랑함과 자아 방종과 죄에 대한 유혹의 부정한 영향을 대항할 수 없다.

 

우리는 많은 악습을 버릴 수 있을 것이며 얼마 동안은 사단과의 관계를 끊을 수 있을 것이다.

그러나 순간마다 자신을 굴복시킴으로 하나님과 산 연결을 가지지 않는다면

우리는 정복당할 것이다. 

그리스도와 개인적으로 친숙하고 계속적으로 교통하지 않는다면

우리는 원수의 마음대로 되어 마침내 그의 명령을 쫓을 것이다.

 

Christ and Him crucified

should be the theme of contemplation, of conversation, and of our most joyful emotion.

 

그리스도와 십자가에 못 박히신 분은 우리의 명상과 대화와 가장 큰 즐거움의 주제가 되어야 한다.
