자제가 필수적임

 

God requires the training of the mental faculties...

The converting power of God upon heart and character is also needed every day.

Self-discipline must be carried on by everyone who claims to be a child of God;

for it is in this way that the mind and will are brought into subjection

to the mind and will of God.

 

하나님께서는 정신적 기능들을 훈련시킬 것을 요구하신다...

심령과 품성은 하나님의 개심시키는 능력을 날마다 필요로 한다.

하나님의 자녀라고 주장하는 모든 사람들은 자기 수양을 계속해야 한다.

왜냐하면 마음과 의지가 이런 방법을 통해서 하나님의 마음과 뜻에 복종되게 되기 때문이다.

 

Decided discipline in the cause of the Lord will accomplish

more than eloquence and the most brilliant talents.

An ordinary mind, well trained, will accomplish more and higher work

than the most educated mind and the greatest talents, without self-control.

 

주님을 위해 받는 단호한 훈련을 통해서

웅변이나 가장 탁월한 재능들보다 훨씬 더 많은 것이 성취될 것이다.

잘 훈련된다면 보통의 지성을 가진 사람도

자제력없이 가장 많은 교육을 받은 사람들이나 가장 위대한 재능을 가진 사람들보다

훨씬 더 많고, 더욱 고상한 일을 성취할 것이다.
