도끼보다 더욱 효과적인 무기

 

하나님께서는 우리가 굳게 서서 백성들을 경고하길 원하신다.

그분께서는 우리가 절제 문제를 제시하기를 원하신다.

 

사람들은 옳지 못하게 먹고 마시는 습관으로 그들의 사고력과 이지력을 파괴시키고 있다.

우리가 도끼를 들고 들어가 술집을 때려부술 필요는 없다.

우리는 도끼보다 더 강력한 무기를 가졌는데 그것은 곧 살아 계신 하나님의 말씀이다.

하나님의 말씀은

사단이 그들의 전도에 가로질러 놓고자 노력하는 지옥의 그림자를 헤치며 꿰뚫고 나갈 것이다.

하나님은 강하시고 능하시다. 그분께서 그들의 심령에 말씀하실 것이다.

우리는 그분께서 이렇게 행하시는 것을 보았다.

 

A Weapon More Effective Than the Ax

 

God wants us to stand where we can warn the people.

He desires us to take up the temperance question.

 

By wrong habits of eating and drinking,

men are destroying what power they have for thought and intelligence.

We do not need to take an ax and break into their saloons.

We have a stronger weapon than this,—the word of the living God.

That will cleave its way through the hellish shadow

which Satan seeks to cast athwart their pathway.

God is mighty and powerful. He will speak to their hearts.

We have seen Him doing this.
