신앙 교육의 필요성

 

그리스도는 우리의 유일하신 소망이시다.

우리는 그분을 바라보아야 하는데, 이는 그분이 우리의 구주이시기 때문이다.

우리는 그분의 말씀을 액면 그대로 받아들여야 하며,

그분을 우리가 의지해야 할 분으로 모셔야 한다.

그분께서는 우리가 필요로 하는 바로 그 도움을 아시며,

우리는 안전하게 그분을 신뢰할 수 있다.

만일 우리가 단지 인간적 지혜를 의지하여 인도함을 받고자 한다면,

우리는 손해보는 편에 서 있음을 발견하게 될 것이다.

그러나 우리는 직접적으로 주 예수께 나아갈 수 있으니

이는 그분께서 이렇게 말씀하셨기 때문이다.

 

“수고하고 무거운 짐 진 자들아 다 내게로 오라, 내가 너희를 쉬게 하리라.

나는 마음이 온유하고 겸손하니 나의 멍에를 메고 내게 배우라.

그러면 너희 마음이 쉼을 얻으리니”(마 11:28.29).

 

“인자의 살을 먹지 아니하고 인자의 피를 마시지 아니하면

너희 속에 생명이 없느니라”(요 6:53)고 말씀하신 분께 가르침을 받는 것은

우리의 특권이다.

 

우리는 간청을 드릴 수 있는, 하나님을 알현할 기회를 가지고 있다.

그러므로 하나님께서 우리의 기도를 들으신다는 굳건한 믿음을 갖고

예수님의 이름으로 우리의 간구를 올리는 일을 그 어느 것도 막지 못하도록 해야 하는데, 그러면 그분께서 우리에게 응답하실 것이다.

 

우리 자신을 그분 앞에 겸손하게 낮추고 우리의 어려움을 하나님께 가져가자.

이뤄져야 할 위대한 사업이 있다.

함께 상의하는 일이 우리의 특권이기는 하나

우리는 매사에 반드시 하나님과 상의해야 한다.

그분께서 결코 우리를 그릇된 길로 인도하지 않으실 것이기 때문이다.

 

우리는 육체로 그 권세를 삼아서는 안 된다.

만일 우리가 그렇게 해서 주로 인간의 도움과 인간의 지도를 의지한다면,

불신이 은밀하게 들어와서 우리의 믿음은 죽게 될 것이다.

 

 

 

 

Need for Religious Education

 

A religious education is greatly needed by all who act a part in the work of Jesus Christ. They are to be laborers together with God, engaged in a sacred, solemn work. Each is to have an individual experience in being taught by the Great Teacher, and individual communion with God. There is to be imparted a new life, and that life is to be nourished by the Holy Spirit. When there is a spiritual union with the Lord Jesus, He will move and impress the heart. He will lead, and in the life there will be a growth of fellowship with Christ.

Christ is our only hope. We may look to Him, for He is our Saviour. We may take Him at His word, and make Him our dependence. He knows just the help we need, and we can safely put our trust in Him. If we depend on merely human wisdom to guide us, we shall find ourselves on the losing side. But we may come direct to the Lord Jesus, for He has said: "Come unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls." It is our privilege to be taught of Him who said, "Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink His blood, ye have no life in you."

We have a divine audience to which to present our requests. Then let nothing prevent us from offering our petitions in the name of Jesus, believing with unwavering faith that God hears us, and that He will answer us. Let us carry our difficulties to God, humbling ourselves before Him. There is a great work to be done; and while it is our privilege to counsel together, we must be very sure, in every matter, to counsel with God, for He will never mislead us. We are not to make flesh our arm. If we do, depending chiefly upon human help, human guidance, unbelief will steal in, and our faith will die. - TM, 485-487.
