하나님의 말씀으로 마음에 말하게 하라

 

그리스도인들은 머지않아 이 세상에 일어날 놀라운 사건을 위하여 준비하여야 하며

부지런히 하나님의 말씀을 연구하고 그 계명에 저희 생애를 일치시키려고 노력함으로

이러한 준비를 해야 한다.

영원이라는 대 주제는 진리가 도외시되는 상상의 신앙과 말과 형식만의 신앙 이상의 어떤 것을

우리에게 요구한다.

 

하나님께서는 부흥과 개혁을 요구하신다.

성경 말씀, 오직 성경만을 설교단에서 들을 수 있어야 한다.

그러나 성경이 그 능력을 상실하였으므로 그 결과로 우리는 영적 생애의 저락 현상만을 볼 따름이다.

오늘날의 많은 설교 중에는 양심을 일깨워 주고 영혼에 생기를 가져다주는 신적인 현현이 없다.

청중들은 “길에서 우리에게 말씀하시고 우리에게 성경을 풀어 주실 때에

우리 속에서 마음이 뜨겁지 아니하더냐”(눅 24:32)고 말할 수 없다.

살아 계신 하나님을 위하여 부르짖고 하나님의 임재를 갈망하는 사람들이 많이 있다.

하나님의 말씀으로 마음에 말하게 하라.

유전과 인간의 이론과 금언만을 들어온 자들로 하여금

영혼을 새롭게 하여 영생을 얻게 할 수 있는 하나님의 음성을 듣게 하라.

 

 

Let the Word of God Speak to the Heart

 

 

Christians should be preparing for what is soon to break upon the world as an overwhelming surprise, and this preparation they should make by diligently studying the word of God and striving to conform their lives to its precepts. The tremendous issues of eternity demand of us something besides an imaginary religion, a religion of words and forms, where truth is kept in the outer court.

God calls for a revival and a reformation. The words of the Bible and the Bible alone, should be heard from the pulpit. But the Bible has been robbed of its power, and the result is seen in a lowering of the tone of spiritual life. In many sermons of today there is not that divine manifestation which awakens the conscience and brings life to the soul. The hearers cannot say, "Did not our heart burn within us, while He talked with us by the way, and while He opened to us the Scriptures?" Luke 24:32. There are many who are crying out for the living God, longing for the divine presence. Let the word of God speak to the heart. Let those who have heard only tradition and human theories and maxims, hear the voice of Him who can renew the soul unto eternal life. – Prophets and Kings, 626.
