주의 영광을 보라

시험은 반드시 닥쳐올 것이다.

시험이 그대들을 엄습할 때, 수고와 당혹이 그대들을 에워쌀 때, 근심하고 낙담하여 거의 절망에 빠지려 할 때 믿음의 눈으로 그대들이 마지막으로 빛을 보았던 그 곳을 보라.

그리하면 그대들을 둘러싼 흑암이 주의 영광의 빛으로 말미암아 쫓겨갈 것이다. 

죄가 그대들의 영혼을 지배하려고 싸우며 양심을 괴롭힐 때, 불신이 마음을 가리울 때

구주에게로 나아가라.

주의 은혜는 죄를 정복하기에 충분하다.

그는 우리를 용서하시고 하나님 안에서 기뻐하게 하실 것이다.

우리는 이제 더 이상 우리의 무능함과 능력의 부족을 이야기하지 말자.

뒤에 있는 것을 잊어버리고 하늘로 향하는 길로 돌진하자. 

우리는 만일 발전시키면 우리로 하여금 하나님을 봉사하는데 더욱 능률 있는 자가 되게 할 수 있는 기회는

단 한 번이라도 소홀히 하지 말자. 

그리하면 금실과 같이 성결함이 우리의 생애에 짜(織)여질 것이다.

그리고 천사들은 우리의 헌신을 보고,

“내가 사람을 정금보다 희소케 하며 오빌의 순금보다 희귀케 하리로다” (사 13:12) 하는 약속을

반복할 것이다. 

약하고 실수 많은 인간들이 자신을 예수께 바치고 그분과 같은 생애를 살 때 온 하늘은 즐거워한다.

Behold His Glory

 When temptations assail you, as they surely will, when care and perplexity surround you, when, distressed and discouraged, you are almost ready to yield to despair, look, O look, to where with the eye of faith you last saw the light: and the darkness that encompasseth you will be dispelled by the bright shining of His glory. 

When sin struggles for the mastery in your soul, and burdens the conscience, when unbelief clouds the mind, go to the Saviour. His grace is sufficient to subdue sin. He will pardon us, making us joyful in God.

Let us no longer talk of our inefficiency and lack of power. Forgetting the things that are behind, let us press forward in the heavenward way. 

Let us neglect no opportunity that, if improved, will make us more useful in God’s service. 

Then like threads of gold, holiness will run through our lives, and the angels, beholding our consecration, will repeat the promise, “I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir.” 

All heaven rejoices when weak, faulty human beings give themselves to Jesus, to live His life.
