인간의 노력과 결합된 하나님의 능력

인간의 노력과 결합된 하나님의 능력은 우리에게 영화로운 승리를 이루어준다.

우리는 이 사실에 대해 감사하지 않을 것인가?

하늘의 모든 보화는 예수 안에서 우리에게 주어졌다....

하나님께서는 우리가 아직까지 도무지 알지 못하던 힘의 근원을 가지고 계신다.

그리하여 우리가 필요한 때에 그 근원에서부터 힘을 공급하여 주실 것이다. 

그러나 우리는 언제나 신성과 연합하기 위하여 노력하여야 한다.

우리의 지성, 우리의 관찰력, 우리 정신의 모든 힘을 동원하지 않으면 안 된다.… 

우리가 난국에 처하여 주를 기다리는 자처럼 우리 자신을 무장하고

우리의 성격에 있는 모든 결함을 정복하려고 노력한다면

하나님께서는 더욱 많은 빛과 힘과 도움을 주실 것이다.

신앙은 감정이 아니다.

믿음은 바라는 것들의 실상이요, 보지 못하는 것들의 증거이다.

The Power of God, Combined with Human Effort

The power of God, combined with human effort, has wrought out a glorious victory for us. Shall we not appreciate this? All the riches of heaven were given to us in Jesus....

God has resources of power of which we as yet know nothing, and from these He will supply us in our time of need. 

But our effort is ever to combine with the divine.

Our intellect, our perceptive powers, all the strength of our being, must be called into exercise.... 

If we will rise to the emergency, and arm ourselves like men who wait for their Lord; if we will work to overcome every defect in our characters, God will give us increased light and strength and help.

Faith is not feeling. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
