하나님의 말씀을 높이라

만약 우리들이 감정의 흥분을 자아내고자 노력한다면

우리 자신이 주체하지 못할 정도로 흥분의 도가니를 만들 수 있을 것이다.

그러나 우리들이 해야 할 일은 조용하고 뚜렷하게 “말씀을 전파하는 일”이다. 

흥분을 자아내는 것을 우리들이 해야 할 일처럼 생각해서는 안 된다.

오직 하나님의 성령께서만 건전한 열성을 불어 넣어 줄 수 있다. 

하나님께서 일하시도록 하고

인간은 하나님 앞에서 부드럽게 행하며 깨어 기다리고 기도하며 매 순간마다 예수님을 바라보아야 한다.

빛과 생명이 되시는 고귀하신 성령의 인도하심과 지도하심을 받도록 하라.

우리는 순수한 하나님의 말씀을 가지고 백성들에게 나아가야 하며

그들이 말씀을 받아들일 때에 성령께서 임하시는데

내가 전에 말한 것과 같이 성령께서는 언제나 인간의 판단력에 좋은 인상을 주는 방법으로 임하신다. 

우리가 말하고 노력하며 모든 영적인 의식을 행함에 있어서

우리들은 하나님의 모든 참된 자녀에게 자극을 주는 침착성과 위엄과 경건한 두려움을 나타내어야 한다.

사람들이 진리에 순복하도록 우리가 영향력을 끼치고자 하는 것은

감정이나 흥분을 통해서가 아니라 하나님의 말씀을 통해서이다.

하나님의 말씀의 토대위에 우리는 안전하게 설 수 있다.

Exalt the Word of God

 If we work to create an excitement of feeling, we shall have all we want, and more than we can possibly know how to manage. Calmly and clearly “Preach the Word.” 

We must not regard it as our work to create an excitement. The Holy Spirit of God alone can create a healthy enthusiasm. 

Let God work, and let the human agent walk softly before Him, watching, waiting, praying, looking unto Jesus every moment, led and controlled by the precious Spirit, which is light and life.

 We must go to the people with the solid Word of God, and when they receive that Word, the Holy Spirit may come, but it always comes, as I have stated before, in a way that commends itself to the judgment of the people. 

In our speaking, our singing, and in all our spiritual exercises, we are to reveal that calmness and dignity and godly fear that actuates every true child of God.

 It is through the Word—not feeling, not excitement—that we want to influence the people to obey the truth. on the platform of God’s Word we can stand with safety.
