끊임없이 필요한 도움

우리가 생애에서 어떤 지위를 가지고 있든지 우리의 사업이 무엇이든지 간에,

우리는 도움이 필요함을 느낄 만큼 겸손해야 한다.
우리는 하나님의 말씀의 교훈을 솔직하게 의지하고, 모든 일에 그분의 섭리를 인정하고,

기도로써 우리의 심령을 쏟아 놓는 일에 성실해야 한다.

사랑하는 형제들이여, 그대들이 세상을 통과하여 지나갈 때 그대들 자신의 명철을 의지해 보라.

그리하면, 그대들은 슬픔과 실망을 거두게 될 것이다.

그대들의 마음을 다하여 주님을 의지하라.

그리하면, 그분께서 지혜로 그대들의 발걸음을 지도해 주실 것이며,

그대들의 권익(權益)은 이 세상과 장차 올 세상을 위하여 안전해질 것이다.

그대들은 빛과 지식이 필요하다.

그대들은 하나님께로부터 권면을 듣든지 그대들 자신의 마음에서 듣든지 할 것이다.

그대들은 그대들 자신이 밝힌 불꽃 가운데서 걸어가든지,

의의 태양으로부터 나오는 거룩한 빛을 자신들에게로 모으든지 할 것이다.

Constant Need of Help

Whatever position in life we may occupy, whatever our business, we must be humble enough to feel our need of help;
we must lean implicitly on the teachings of God’s word, acknowledge His providence in all things, and be faithful in pouring out our souls in prayer.

Lean to your own understanding, dear brethren, as you make your way through the world, and you will reap sorrow and disappointment.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and He will guide your steps in wisdom, and your interests will be safe for this world and for the next.

You need light and knowledge. You will take counsel either of God or your own heart; you will walk in the sparks of your own kindling, or will gather to yourself divine light from the Sun of Righteousness.
