결점은 극복될 수 있음

어떤 사람도, “나는 품성의 결점을 고칠 수 없다”는 말을 하지 않도록 하라.

그대가 이런 결정에 도달한다면, 그대는 정녕 영생을 얻는 데 실패할 것이다. 

그 불가능성은 그대의 의지 때문이다.

하려는 의지가 없으면, 그대는 이길 수 없다. 

진정 어려움은 성화되지 못한 타락한 마음에서 비롯되며,

하나님의 지배에 복종하기를 즐겨하지 않는 데서 생긴다.

정결케 된 마음에는 모든 것이 변화된다.

품성의 변화는 마음속에 그리스도가 내재하신다는 것을 세상에 증언한다. 

하나님의 성령은 영혼 속에 새 생명을 나게 하시고 생각과 욕망을 그리스도의 뜻에 복종케 하신다. 

그리하여 속 사람은 그리스도의 형상으로 말미암아 다시 새로워진다. 

나약하고 죄 많은 남녀들은 은혜로운 구속의 능력이 결함 많은 품성을 계발시켜

균형과 풍성한 열매를 맺게 만든다는 것을 세상에 보여 준다.

Defects Can Be Overcome

Let no one say, I cannot remedy my defects of character. If you come to this decision, you will certainly fail of obtaining everlasting life. 

The impossibility lies in your own will. If you will not, then you can not overcome. 

The real difficulty arises from the corruption of an unsanctified heart and an unwillingness to submit to the control of God.

To the heart that has become purified, all is changed. Transformation of character is the testimony to the world of an indwelling Christ. 

The Spirit of God produces a new life in the soul, bringing the thoughts and desires into obedience to the will of Christ; and the inward man is renewed in the image of God. 

Weak and erring men and women show to the world that the redeeming power of grace can cause the faulty character to develop into symmetry and abundant fruitfulness.
