“내가 주께 범죄치 아니하려 하여 주의 말씀을 내 마음에 두었나이다”(시 119:11).
오류나 거짓으로 잘못 인도함을 받지 않으려면 진리가 먼저 우리 마음을 점령해야 한다.
원수를 정복하기 위하여 하나님의 말씀이 하나님의 능력의 무기로 마음에 공급되어야 한다.
시련 당할 때 성경지식으로 영혼을 살찌게 하고 하나님의 약속에서 피난처를 찾는 자는 복이 있다.
하나님의 말씀은 살아계신 하나님과의 교통의 통로이다.
말씀으로 양식을 삼는 자는 모든 선한 일에 열매를 맺게 될 것이다.
그는 감추어져 있는 보물을 찾기 위하여 일하지 않으면 안 될 진리가 묻혀있는 광산을 발견한 자이다.
유혹으로 둘러싸여 있을 때 그 유혹에 대처할 말씀들이 가장 필요하여
그 말씀들을 유효하게 사용할 수 있는 바로 그 순간,
성령께서는 바로 그 말씀들을 마음에 떠오르게 할 것이다.
우리는 성경을 좀더 명확히 알고 있어야 한다.
만일 우리가 성경 구절들을 기억해 두기만 하면 많은 유혹들에 대한 문을 닫을 수 있다.
“기록되었으되”라는 말로 사단의 유혹에 대해 울타리를 치도록 하자.
우리의 믿음과 용기를 시험하기 위하여 어려움을 만날 것이나
예수께서 주시기를 바라시는 은혜를 통하여 승리하기만 하면
우리는 더욱 강하게 될 것이다.
우리는 믿어야 하며 의심없이 약속들을 붙들어야 한다.
Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Psalm 119:11.
If we would not be misled by error and falsehood, the heart must be preoccupied with the truth.
The Word of God will furnish the mind with weapons of divine power, to vanquish the enemy.
Happy is the man, who, when tempted, finds his soul rich in the knowledge of the Scriptures, who finds shelter beneath the promises of God.
The Word of God is a channel of communication with the living God.
He who feeds upon the Word will become fruitful in all good works.
He ... will be the discoverer of rich mines of truth which he must work to find the hidden treasure.
When [he is] surrounded with temptations, the Holy Spirit will bring to his mind the very words with which to meet the temptation at the very moment when they are most needed, and he can use them effectually.
We must be better acquainted with our Bibles. We might close the door to many temptations, if we would commit to memory passages of Scripture.
Let us hedge up the way to Satan’s temptations with “It is written.”
We shall meet with conflicts to test our faith and courage, but they will make us strong if we conquer through the grace Jesus is willing to give.
But we must believe; we must grasp the promises without a doubt.
