하나님과 인간의 협력

그리스도께서 인간의 마음에 큰 일을 행하시는 것은

훈련적 과정이요 정신과 마음의 끊임없는 훈련이다. 

옛 성질을 가진 자아는 죽고

그리스도의 뜻이 우리의 뜻이 되며 그의 방법이 우리의 방법이 된다.

그리하여 그 사람은 마음과 정신과 지능으로써 하나님의 수중에 있는 기구가 되어

다시는 더 악을 행치 아니하고 그리스도의 의 만을 행하게 된다.

하나님께서는 하시는 일에 있어서 사람의 협력이 없이는 아무 것도 행하시지 않으신다.

그는 결코 사람의 의지를 강요하시지 않으신다.

그 의지가 온전히 주님께 바쳐지지 아니하는 한

그가 그 인간 대리자를 통하여 하시고자 뜻하신 거룩한 사업을 성취할 수 없다. 

예수께서는 사람들의 불신 때문에

어떤 곳에서는 사람들 가운데서 많은 위대한 일들을 행하실 수 없으시다고 선언하셨다…

토기장이는 그의 손 안에 들어오지 않은 것을 가지고는 광채나는 그릇을 만들거나 형성할 수 없다. 

그리스도인의 생애는 날마다 항복하고 복종하여

계속적인 승리로써 매일 그 승리를 새롭게 하는 생애이다.

이것은 하늘의 모형을 따라 생애를 형성해 가는 그리스도에의 성장이다.

When Man Cooperates

This is a training process, a constant discipline of the mind and heart, that Christ shall work His great work in human hearts. 

Self, the old natural self, dies, and Christ’s will is our will, His way is our way, and the human agent becomes, with heart, mind, and intellect, an instrument in the hands of God to work no more wickedness but the righteousness of Christ....

In the divine arrangement God does nothing without the cooperation of man. He compels no man’s will. That must be given to the Lord completely, else the Lord is not able to accomplish His divine work that He would do through the human agency. 

Jesus declared that in a certain place He could not do many mighty works among the people because of their unbelief. He wanted to do for them in that place just what He knew that they needed to have done, but He could not because unbelief barred the way.

The potter cannot mold and fashion unto honor that which has never been placed in his hands. 

The Christian life is one of daily surrender, submission, and continual overcoming, gaining fresh victories every day. This is the growing up into Christ, fashioning the life into the divine Model....
