절망할 필요가 없다

아무도 자포자기하여 낙담과 절망에 빠질 필요가 없다.

사단은 그대에게 가까이 와서

“너는 절망적인 상태에 놓여 있어, 너는 회복될 가망이 전혀 없어.”라고 말함으로써 가혹한 암시를 할 것이다. 

그러나 그리스도 안에 그대를 위한 희망이 있다.

하나님께서는 우리에게 자력으로 승리하라고 명하지 않으신다.

우리가 당하고 있는 어려움이 아무리 심령과 육체를 억압하고 있을지라도,

그분께서는 우리에게 자유를 주시고자 기다리고 계신다.

우리는 자아 연민을 조심할 필요가 있다.

그대가 마땅할 만한 평가를 받지 못하고, 그대의 노력이 인정받지 못하고,

그대의 사업이 너무 어렵다는 등의 생각을 결코 하지 말라. 

그리스도께서 우리를 위하여 참으신 것을 생각하고, 불평하는 생각을 일체 버려라.

우리는 우리 주님께서 받으신 것보다 더 좋은 대접을 받고 있다.

No Reason for Despair

None need abandon themselves to discouragement and despair. Satan may come to you with the cruel suggestion: "Yours is a hopeless case. You are irredeemable." 

But there is hope for you in Christ. God does not bid us overcome in our own strength. He asks us to come close to His side. Whatever difficulties we labor under, which weigh down soul and body, He waits to make us free.

We need to beware of self-pity. Never indulge the feeling that you are not esteemed as you should be, that your efforts are not appreciated, that your work is too difficult. 

Let the memory of what Christ has endured for us silence every murmuring thought. We are treated better than was our Lord.
