그분의 약속들을 믿는다면 그들은 큰 것을 기대할 수 있다

그리스도께서는 “내 이름으로” 기도하라고 제자들에게 명하셨다.

그분을 따르는 자들은 그리스도의 이름으로 하나님 앞에 서야 한다.

그들을 위하여 치르신 희생의 가치를 통해서만 그들은 주님이 보시기에 가치가 있는 것이다.

그리스도께서 끼쳐 주신 의로 말미암아 그들은 귀중하게 헤아림을 받는다.

그리스도를 인하여 주께서는 당신을 경외하는 자들을 용서하신다.

그분은 그들에게서 죄인의 비루함을 보지 않으신다.
하나님께서는 그들이 믿는 당신의 아들을 닮은 모습이 그들 안에 있음을 인정하신다.

주께서는 당신의 백성들이 자신들을 낮게 평가할 때에 실망하신다.

그분께서는 당신의 택하신 백성들이 당신이 그들에게 매기신 값에 의하여 자신들을 평가하기를 원하신다.

하나님께서는 그들을 원하셨다. 그렇지 않았더라면

그분은 그들을 구속하려고 그처럼 값비싼 심부름으로 당신의 아들을 보내지 않으셨을 것이다.

그분은 그들을 쓰실 데가 있으시며,

그들이 당신의 이름을 영화롭게 하려고 당신에게 가장 큰 요구를 할 때에 매우 기뻐하신다.

만일 그들이 그분의 약속들을 믿는다면 그들은 큰 것을 기대할 수 있다.

They May Expect Large Things If They Have Faith in His Promises

 “In My name,” Christ bade His disciples pray. In Christ’s name His followers are to stand before God. Through the value of the sacrifice made for them, they are of value in the Lord’s sight.

Because of the imputed righteousness of Christ they are accounted precious. For Christ’s sake the Lord pardons those that fear Him. He does not see in them the vileness of the sinner. He recognizes in them the likeness of His Son, in whom they believe.

 The Lord is disappointed when His people place a low estimate upon themselves. He desires His chosen heritage to value themselves according to the price He has placed upon them.

God wanted them, else He would not have sent His Son on such an expensive errand to redeem them.

He has a use for them, and He is well pleased when they make the very highest demands upon Him, that they may glorify His name. They may expect large things if they have faith in His promises.
