하나님의 평강이 새 마음을 가진 자들을 지킴

“그리하면 모든 지각에 뛰어난 하나님의 평강이 그리스도 예수 안에서 너희 마음과 생각을 지키시리라”

(빌 4:7).

우리가 그리스도를 마음속에 거하는 손님으로 영접할 때,

지각에 뛰어난 하나님의 평강이 예수 그리스도를 통하여 우리의 마음과 뜻을 지켜 줄 것이다.

지상에서의 구주의 생애는, 비록 투쟁의 와중에서 보낸 것이라도 평강의 생애였다.
분노한 원수들이 계속해서 따라다니는 중에도, 그분께서는 “나를 보내신 이가 나와 함께 하시도다

내가 항상 그의 기뻐하시는 일을 행하므로 나를 혼자 두지 아니하셨느니라”(요 8:29)고 말씀하셨다.
어떤 인간적인 소동이나 사탄의 분노도

이같이 하나님과의 완전한 교통으로 얻어지는 안정은 깨뜨릴 수가 없었다.

그분은 우리에게 이렇게 말씀하신다.

“평안을 너희에게 끼치노니 곧 나의 평안을 너희에게 주노라” (요 14:27)
“나는 마음이 온유하고 겸손하니 나의 멍에를 메고 내게 배우라 그러면 너희 마음이 쉼을 얻으리니” (마 11:2).

세속적인 근원에서 나온 행복은 그 행복을 이루어 주는 다양한 환경과 마찬가지로 변하기 쉽다.
그러나 그리스도의 평안은 변하지 않는 영속적인 평안이다.
그것은 생애의 어떤 환경에 의해 좌우되는 것이 아니며,

세상 재물의 양이나 세상 친구의 수에 의해 결정이 되는 것도 아니다.

그리스도는 생명수의 근원이시므로, 그분께로부터 얻은 행복은 결코 사라지지 않는다.

God's Peace Keeps the New Heart

"And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:7.

When we receive Christ as an abiding guest in the soul, the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, will keep our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

The Saviour’s life on earth, though lived in the midst of conflict, was a life of peace.
While angry enemies were constantly pursuing Him,
He said, “He that sent me is with me; the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.”
No storm of human or satanic wrath could disturb the calm of that perfect communion with God.

And He says to us:
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you.”
“Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart, and ye shall find rest.” (John 14:27, Matt. 11:2)

Happiness drawn from earthly sources is as changeable as varying circumstances can make it;
but the peace of Christ is a constant and abiding peace.
It does not depend upon any circumstances in life, on the amount of worldly goods, or the number of earthly friends.

Christ is the fountain of living water, and happiness drawn from Him can never fail.
