우리를 지키는 천사들

“저가 너를 위하여 그 사자들을 명하사 네 모든 길에 너를 지키게 하심이라" - 시 91:11.

오, 하늘과 땅이 얼마나 가까운지 깨달을 수 있으면 얼마나 좋을까! 

세상에 태어난 자녀들은 알지 못하고 있으나 저들이 탄생할 때 저들은 빛의 천사들을 동반하게 된다.

하늘의 사자들은 구원의 후사가 될 이들에게 봉사하도록 부르심을 받았기 때문이다. 

이 조용한 증인은 모든 영혼들의 생애를 인도하여 저들을 그리스도에게로 이끌고 승리하게 하려 한다. 

천사는 만일 허락만 하면 사람의 영혼을 파괴할 원수에게 시험을 당하여 붙들려 있는 이들을

결코 떠나지 않는다. 

저들이 성령을 거역하여 영원한 멸망을 자처할 때까지 아직 희망이 남아있는 한

사람들은 하늘 천사의 보호하심을 받고 있는 것이다.

...이러한 반대의 세력 속에 살고 있는 우리는 믿음과 기도의 실천을 통하여

모든 타락한 감화로부터 보호할 하늘 천사들을 우리 곁에서 지키도록 부를 것이다.

Angels to Guard Us

For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. Psalm 91:11.

Oh, that we could all realize the nearness of heaven to earth! When the earthborn children know it not, they have the angels of light as their companions; for the heavenly messengers are sent forth to minister to those who shall be heirs of salvation. 

A silent witness guards every soul that lives, seeking to win and draw him to Christ. The angels never leave the tempted one a prey to the enemy who would destroy the souls of men if permitted to do so. 

As long as there is hope, until they resist the Holy Spirit to their eternal ruin, men are guarded by heavenly intelligences.

... Living amid these opposing forces, we may through the exercise of faith and prayer, call to our side a retinue of heavenly angels, who will guard us from every corrupting influence.
