사랑은 충동이 아니라 거룩한 원칙

 

하나님께 대한 지고한 사랑과 서로에 대한 무아적 사랑—

이것은 우리 하늘 아버지가 주실 수 있는 최고의 선물이다. 

이 사랑은 충동이 아닌 거룩한 원칙이며, 변치않는 힘이다.

성화되지 않은 심령은 그것이 시작되거나 만들어질 수 없다. 

그것은 다만 예수께서 다스리는 심령에서만 발견된다.

“우리가 사랑함은 그가 먼저 우리를 사랑하셨음이라” (요일 4:19). 

거룩한 은혜로 새롭게 된 심령에는 사랑이 행동을 지배하는 원칙이다.

 Love Not an Impulse but a Divine Principle

 

Supreme love for God and unselfish love for one another—

this is the best gift that our heavenly Father can bestow.

This love is not an impulse but a divine principle, a permanent power.

The unconsecrated heart cannot originate or produce it.

Only in the heart where Jesus reigns is it found.

“We love Him, because He first loved us” (1 John 4:19).

In the heart renewed by divine grace, love is the ruling principle of action.
