예수에 대하여 이야기하고 생각하자

 

우리의 마음이 자신에 대하여서만 생각할 때에는 

우리는 힘과 생명의 근원이 되시는 그리스도에게서 떠나게 된다. 

 

그러므로 우리의 생각을 구주에게서 떠나게 함으로 

우리의 심령이 그리스도와 연합하고 교통하는 일을 방해하려는 것은 사단이 항상 꾀하는 일이다.

 

세상의 오락, 생활상 염려와 고민과 비통, 다른 사람의 결점 또는 자신의 결점과 불완전함, 

이런 것들의 전부 혹은 일부에 우리의 마음을 돌리도록 사단은 애쓸 것이다. 

 

그의 간계(奸計)에 빠지지 말라.

사단은 참으로 양심대로 살려고 하고 하나님을 위하여 살고자 하는 많은 사람으로 하여금 

저희의 결점과 약점을 생각하게 함으로써 

저희를 그리스도에게서 떠나게 하여서 자기가 승리를 얻으려고 한다.

 

우리는 우리 자신을 중심으로 삼지 말고 

또는 구원을 얻을까 못 얻을까에 대하여 걱정과 염려를 하지말 것이다. 

이러한 염려는 사람을 우리 힘의 근원이 되시는 자에게서 떠나게 하는 것이다.

 

그대의 영혼을 하나님의 보호에 맡기고 그를 신뢰하라.

 

예수에 대하여 이야기하고 생각하자. 

그를 생각하는 가운데서 자신을 잊어버리라. 

모든 의혹을 버리고 공포심을 없이 하여 버리라. 

 

사도 바울과 같이 

“내가 산 것이 아니요 오직 내 안에 그리스도께서사신 것이다. 이제 내가 육체 가운데 사는 것은 

나를 사랑하사 나를 위하여 자기 몸을 버리신 하나님의 아들을 믿는 믿음 안에서 사는 것이다”(갈 2:20)고 

말하라. 

 

하나님을 의지하라. 그는 그대가 맡긴것을 능히 보호하실 수 있다. 

그대가 자신을 그의 손에 맡기면 그는 그대로 하여금 사랑하신 자로 말미암아 이기고도 남음이 있게 하시리라.

Talk and Think of Jesus

 When the mind dwells upon self, it is turned away from Christ, the source of strength and life. Hence it is Satan’s constant effort to keep the attention diverted from the Savior and thus prevent the union and communion of the soul with Christ.

The pleasures of the world, life’s cares and perplexities and sorrows, the faults of others, or your own faults and imperfections—to any or all of these he will seek to divert the mind. Do not be misled by his devices. Many who are really conscientious, and who desire to live for God, he too often leads to dwell upon their own faults and weaknesses, and thus by separating them from Christ he hopes to gain the victory.

We should not make self the center and indulge anxiety and fear as to whether we shall be saved. All this turns the soul away from the Source of our strength.

Commit the keeping of your soul to God, and trust in Him.

Talk and think of Jesus. Let self be lost in Him. Put away all doubt; dismiss your fears. Say with the apostle Paul, “I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me.” Galatians 2:20. Rest in God. He is able to keep that which you have committed to Him. If you will leave yourself in His hands, He will bring you off more than conqueror through Him that has loved you.
