믿음의 정의

 

Faith, saving faith, is to be taught.

The definition of this faith in Jesus Christ may be described in few words:

It is the act of the soul by which the whole man is given over to the guardianship

and control of Jesus Christ. 

 

믿음, 즉 구원에 이르는 믿음을 사람들에게 가르쳐야 한다. 

예수 그리스도를 믿는 이 믿음의 정의는 몇 마디 말로 기술될 수 있다. 

그것은 전 존재를 예수 그리스도의 보호와 통제에 맡기는 영혼의 행위이다. 

 

He abides in Christ and Christ abides in the soul by faith as supreme.

The believer commits his soul and body to God and with assurance may say,

Christ is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him against that day.

All who will do this will be saved unto life eternal.

 

There will be an assurance that the soul is washed in the blood of Christ

and clothed with His righteousness and precious in the sight of Jesus.

Our thoughts and our hopes are on the second advent of our Lord.

That is the day when the Judge of all the earth will reward the trust of His people.

 

그는 그리스도 안에 거하고, 그리스도는 믿음으로 말미암아 영혼 속에 주권자로서 거하신다. 

신자는 자신의 영혼과 몸을 그리스도께 의탁하고, 

확신 가운데서, 내가 그분께 의탁한 것을 그분께서 그날까지 능히 지키실 수 있다고 말할 수 있다. 이렇게 하는 모든 사람은 구원을 받아 영생에 이르게 될 것이다. 

 

그 영혼이 그리스도의 보혈로 씻겨지고 그분의 의로 옷입어

예수님 보시기에 귀중하다는 확신이 있을 것이다. 

우리의 생각과 소망은 주님의 재림에 초점이 맞춰져 있다. 

그날은 온 세상의 재판장께서 그분의 백성의 신뢰를 상급으로 갚아 주실 날이다.

 

Through faith we receive the grace of God, but faith is not our Saviour.

It earns nothing.

It is the hand by which we lay hold upon Christ and appropriate His merits.

 

믿음을 통해서 우리는 하나님의 은혜를 받지만, 믿음은 우리의 구주가 아니다. 

그것은 아무런 공로도 주지 못한다. 

믿음은 우리가 그리스도를 붙잡고 그분의 공로를 내 것으로 만드는 손이다.
