행복은 하나님의 율법에 완전히 일치하는 데 달려 있음

 

 

사랑의 율법이 하나님의 정부의 기초가 되므로

모든 피조물들의 행복은 그것의 의로운 큰 원칙에 완전히 일치하는 데 달려 있다.

하나님께서는 모든 피조물로부터 이 사랑의 봉사,

곧 주님의 성품을 명확하게 이해하는 데서 솟아나오는 경배를 바라신다.

하나님께서는 강요된 충성을 기뻐하지 않으신다.

그러므로 그분께서는 모든 사람에게 의지의 자유를 허락하셔서

그들이 주님께 자발적 봉사를 할 수 있게 하신다.

 

Happiness Depends Upon Perfect Accord with God’s Laws

 

The law of love being the foundation of the government of God,

the happiness of all created beings depended upon their perfect accord with

its great principles of righteousness.

God desires from all His creatures the service of love—

homage that springs from an intelligent appreciation of His character.

He takes no pleasure in a forced allegiance, and to all He grants freedom of will,

that they may render Him voluntary service.
