영원한 세대에 이르는 감화

 

제자들은 저희가 있는 그 곳에서 사업을 시작할 것이다.

가장 어렵고 가장 희망이 없어 보이는 일터라도 지나쳐 버릴 것이 아니다.

이와 같이 모든 그리스도의 일꾼들은 각각 저희가 있는 곳에서 일을 시작해야 한다.

우리 자신의 가족 중에도 동정에 주리고 생명의 떡에 굶주린 영혼들이 있을 수 있다.

그리스도를 위하여 교육시켜야 할 자녀들이 있을 것이다. 바로 우리의 문전에 불신자들이 있다.

가장 가까이 있는 일을 충성스럽게 하자.

그 다음에 하나님의 손이 길을 인도하시는 데까지 우리의 노력을 확대시키자.

 

많은 사람의 사업이 환경에 의하여 제한을 받는 것처럼 보이나

어느 곳에서든지 신앙과 근면으로 행한다면

세상의 가장 먼 곳에서까지도 그 감화를 느끼게 될 것이다.

 

그리스도께서 세상에 계실 때에는 그분의 사업이 좁은 지역에 국한된 것처럼 보였으나

각 나라에서 많은 무리가 그분의 기별을 들었다.

하나님께서는 때때로 가장 큰 결과를 성취시키기 위하여 가장 단순한 방법을 사용하신다.

그분의 사업의 모든 부분이 마치 모든 것이 사이좋게 움직이는 바퀴 속의 바퀴처럼

모든 다른 부분에 의존하도록 그분은 계획하셨다.

성령의 감동을 받은 가장 겸손한 일꾼이 눈으로 볼 수 없는 심금(心琴)을 울릴 때에

그 진동은 땅끝까지 울릴 것이며 영원한 세대를 통하여 아름다운 멜로디를 만들어 낼 것이다.

 

 

The Influence Though Eternal Ages

 

The disciples were to begin their work where they were. The hardest and most unpromising field was not to be passed by. So every one of Christ's workers is to begin where he is. In our own families may be souls hungry for sympathy, starving for the bread of life. There may be children to be trained for Christ. There are heathen at our very doors. Let us do faithfully the work that is nearest. Then let our efforts be extended as far as God's hand may lead the way.

The work of many may appear to be restricted by circumstances; but, wherever it is, if performed with faith and diligence it will be felt to the uttermost parts of the earth. Christ's work when upon earth appeared to be confined to a narrow field, but multitudes from all lands heard His message. God often uses the simplest means to accomplish the greatest results. It is His plan that every part of His work shall depend on every other part, as a wheel within a wheel, all acting in harmony. The humblest worker, moved by the Holy Spirit, will touch invisible chords, whose vibrations will ring to the ends of the earth, and make melody through eternal ages.
