그리스도 앞에 있는 즐거움

 

 

하나님께서는 당신의 백성을 위하여 가장 값진 축복을 준비하고 계시다.

그러나 하나님께서는 저들이

흑암에서 저희를 불러내어 신비한 빛 가운데로 인도하신 하나님께 대하여 찬미하는 생애를 통해서

고귀한 은사를 다루는 방법을 알게 되기까지는 그 축복을 베풀어 주실 수 없으시다.

 

“이러므로 우리에게 구름같이 둘러싼 허다한 증인들이 있으니

모든 무거운 것과 얽매이기 쉬운 죄를 벗어버리고

인내로써 우리 앞에 당한 경주를 경주하며

믿음의 주요 또 온전케 하시는 이인 예수를 바라보자.

저는 그 앞에 있는 즐거움을 위하여 십자가를 참으사 부끄러움을 개의치 아니하시더니

하나님 보좌 우편에 앉으셨느니라”(히 12:1, 2).

 

그리스도 앞에 있는 즐거움의 일부는

성령의 전능하신 능력으로 당신의 진리를 옹호하는 것을 바라보는 즐거움이었으며

당신의 형상을 모든 추종자들의 생애와 품성에 판박이게 하는 것이었다.

 

 

The Joy Which Was Set Before Christ

 

 

God has the richest blessing for His people;

but He cannot bestow it until they know

how to treat the precious gift in showing forth the praises of Him

who has called them out of darkness into His marvelous light.

 

"Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with

so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight,

and the sin which doth so easily beset us,

and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;

who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross,

despising the shame,

and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God" (Heb. 12:1, 2).

 

A portion of the joy which was set before Christ,

was the joy of seeing His truth armed with

the omnipotent power of the Holy Spirit,

impressing His image upon the life and character of His followers.
