환경을 지배하는 사람

 

사람이 환경을 만들 수 있다. 그러나 환경이 사람을 만들도록 되어서는 안된다.

우리는 환경을 일하는 도구로 이용해야 한다.

우리가 환경을 지배해야지 환경이 우리를 지배하도록 허용해서는 안된다.

 

유능한 사람들은 반대를 당하고, 난처한 일을 만나고, 방해를 받아 온 사람들이다.

힘을 발휘할 수 밖에 없는 처지가 됨으로써

그들이 당하는 장애들이 그들에게는 오히려 훌륭한 축복임이 입증된다.

 

그들은 자기를 의존한다. 그러나

투쟁과 난관은 하나님을 의지하는 믿음과 능력을 계발시켜 주는 확고한 신뢰심을 발휘하게 해 준다.

 

Man can shape circumstances

Man can shape circumstances, but circumstances should not be allowed to shape the man. We should seize upon circumstances as instruments by which to work. We are to master them, but should not permit them to master us.

Men of power are those who have been opposed, baffled, and thwarted. By calling their energies into action, the obstacles they meet prove to them positive blessings. They gain self-reliance.
