세상 사람들을 위한 안식일

 

안식일은 이스라엘만을 위하여 있는 것이 아니라 세상 사람들을 위하여 있는 것이었다.

안식일은 에덴에 살았던 아담에게 알려졌으며 십계명의 다른 명령과 같이 폐할 수 없는 의무에 속한다.

넷째 계명이 그 일부를 이루는 율법에 대하여 그리스도께서는

“천지가 없어지기 전에는 율법의 일점일획이라도 반드시 없어지지 아니하고 다 이루리라”고 말씀하셨다.

하늘과 땅이 존속하는 한 안식일은 창조주의 능력의 표징으로 남아 있을 것이다.

그리하여 에덴이 다시 지상에 회복될 때에

하나님의 거룩한 안식의 날은 해 아래 있는 모든 사람에 의해 존귀히 여김을 받을 것이다.

 

“매 안식일에” 영화롭게 된 새 땅의 주민들이 “이르러 내 앞에 경배하리라”, “나 여호와가 말하노라”

(마 5：18; 사 66：23)...

 

그리고 여호와께서는 “만일 안식일에 네 발을 금하여 내 성일에 오락을 행치 아니하고

안식일을 일컬어 즐거운 날이라 여호와의 성일을 존귀한 날이라…하면

네가 여호와의 안에서 즐거움을 얻을 것이라”(사 58：13, 14)고 말씀하신다.

 

안식일을 그리스도의 창조와 구속의 능력의 표징으로 받아들이는 모든 사람에게

그 날은 즐거운 날이 될 것이다.

그들은 그 속에서 그리스도를 봄으로 그리스도 안에서 즐거워 할 것이다.

안식일은 그들에게 구속하기에 능하신 그리스도의 권세의 증거로 창조 사업을 가리킨다.

안식일은 사람의 마음에 잃어버린 에덴의 평화를 상기시키는 동시에

구주로 말미암아 회복된 평화에 대하여 말해 준다.

그리고 천연계의 모든 사물은 “수고하고 무거운 짐진 자들아 다 내게로 오라 내가 너희를 쉬게 하리라”

(마 11：28)는 그분의 초청을 반복한다.

 

 

 

The Sabbath for the World

 

 

The Sabbath was not for Israel merely, but for the world. It had been made known to man in Eden, and, like the other precepts of the Decalogue, it is of imperishable obligation. Of that law of which the fourth commandment forms a part, Christ declares, "Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in nowise pass from the law." So long as the heavens and the earth endure, the Sabbath will continue as a sign of the Creator's power. And when Eden shall bloom on earth again, God's holy rest day will be honored by all beneath the sun. "From one Sabbath to another" the inhabitants of the glorified new earth shall go up "to worship before Me, saith the Lord." Matt. 5:18; Isa. 66:23...

And the Lord says, "If thou turn away thy foot from the Sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on My holy day; and call the Sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honorable; . . . then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord." Isa. 58:13, 14. To all who receive the Sabbath as a sign of Christ's creative and redeeming power, it will be a delight. Seeing Christ in it, they delight themselves in Him. The Sabbath points them to the works of creation as an evidence of His mighty power in redemption. While it calls to mind the lost peace of Eden, it tells of peace restored through the Saviour. And every object in nature repeats His invitation, "Come unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy-laden, and I will give you rest." Matt 11:28. – Desire of Ages, 283, 289.
