모든 과도한 염려를 물리쳐야 함

 

그분께서는 우리가 일하러 갈 때 보시며 우리가 기도할 때 들으신다. 

그분께서는 우리가 저녁에 잠자리에 누울 때나 아침에 일어날 때

우리를 보고 계신다. 

그분은 부자가 그의 저택에서 언제 연회를 베푸는지 아신다. 

그분은 가난한 사람이 자녀들을 식탁 주위에 모을 때 그것을 보고 계신다. 

하나님께서는 모든 눈물을 주시하시고 모든 미소를 보신다.

 

만일 우리가 하나님께서 관심을 갖고 계신다는 것을 믿는다면, 

우리는 불필요한 걱정을 하지 않게 될 것이다. 

우리의 생애는 지금처럼 슬픔으로 가득 차 있지 않을 것이다. 

왜냐하면 크건 작건, 모든 것들이 하나님의 손에 맡겨질 것이기 때문이다. 

그분은 수많은 걱정거리들 때문에

당혹해 하시거나 그 중압감에 의해 압도당하는 분이 아니시다. 

그러므로 우리는 수많은 사람들이 그토록 오랫동안 누리지 못했던 마음의 안식을 누리게 된다.

All Undue Anxieties Dismissed

When men go forth to their daily toil, as when they engage in prayer; when they lie down at night, and when they rise in the morning; when the rich man feasts in his palace, or when the poor man gathers his children about the scanty board, each is tenderly watched by the heavenly Father. No tears are shed that God does not notice. There is no smile that He does not mark.

If we would but fully believe this, all undue anxieties would be dismissed. Our lives would not be so filled with disappointment as now; for everything, whether great or small, would be left in the hands of God, who is not perplexed by the multiplicity of cares or overwhelmed by their weight. We should then enjoy a rest of soul to which many have long been strangers.--SC 86 (1892).
