하나님이 그대의 길을 지시할 것이라는 것을 신뢰하라

많은 사람들은 장래를 위하여 분명한 계획을 세울 수 없다. 그들의 생애는 불안정하다. 그들은 현재 하고 있는 일이 어떻게 될 것인지 알지 못한다. 그러므로 그것 때문에 그들은 염려와 불안을 갖게 된다. 이 세상에서의 하나님의 자녀들의 생애는 순례자의 생애임을 기억하자. 우리는 우리 자신의 생애를 위하여 계획을 세울 지혜가 없다. 우리의 장래를 꼴지어 주는 것은 우리가 아니다. “믿음으로 아브라함은 부르심을 받았을 때에 순종하여 장래 기업으로 받을 땅에 나갈 새 갈 바를 알지 못하고 나갔으며”(히 11:8).

그리스도께서는 지상 생애를 하시는 동안 당신 자신을 위한 계획을 세우지 않으셨다. 그분께서는 당신을 위한 하나님의 계획을 받아들이셨고, 날마다 아버지께서는 당신의 계획을 나타내 주셨다. 그와 같이 우리도 우리의 생애가 단순히 그분의 뜻을 이루는 생애가 될 수 있도록 하나님을 의지하여야 한다. 우리가 우리의 길을 그분께 위탁할 때, 그분께서는 우리의 발길을 인도해 주실 것이다.

참으로 많은 사람들이 빛나는 장래를 위하여 계획을 세우는 중에 완전한 실패를 한다. 하나님께서 그대를 위하여 계획을 세우게 하라. 작은 어린 아이처럼 “거룩한 자들의 발을 지키실” 분의 지도를 의지하라(삼상 2:9). 만일 하나님의 자녀들이 처음부터 끝까지를 볼 수 있고, 그들이 그분과 협력함으로 성취하고 있는 목적의 영광을 식별할 수 있다면, 그들이 지도받기를 바라는 바로 그 길로 하나님께서 그들을 인도하신다는 사실을 알게 될 것이다.(치료봉사, 478-479)

내일을 위하여 걱정할 필요가 없다. 그대를 종으로 삼으신 그분께서는 처음과 끝을 다 아신다. 미래의 사건들이 비록 그대의 눈에는 보이지 않지만 전능하신 그분의 눈에는 환히 다 보인다.

해야 할 일들을 스스로의 손으로 처리하고 성공을 얻기 위하여 자신의 지혜를 의지할 때는, 하나님께서 맡기지 않으신 짐을 지며 그분의 도움 없이 그것을 나르려고 애쓰게 된다. 하나님께 속한 책임을 우리가 짐으로써 사실상 자신을 하나님의 위치에 두는 것이다. 우리가 걱정하고 위험과 실패를 예측하는 것은 당연하다. 왜냐하면 그런 일이 우리에게 분명히 닥쳐올 것이기 때문이다. 그러나 하나님께서 우리를 사랑하시고 우리에게 유익을 주고자 하신다는 것을 진정으로 믿을 때는 장래를 위하여 염려하지 말아야 한다. 우리는 어린아이가 사랑하는 부모를 의지하는 것처럼 하나님을 의지해야 한다. 그리하면 우리의 뜻이 하나님의 뜻에 삼켜지기 때문에 근심과 걱정이 사라질 것이다.(산상보훈, 100-101)

 

Trust God and He Will Direct Your Way

 

Many are unable to make definite plans for the future. Their life is unsettled. They cannot discern the outcome of affairs, and this often fills them with anxiety and unrest. Let us remember that the life of God’s children in this world is a pilgrim life. We have not wisdom to plan our own lives. It is not for us to shape our future. “By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.” Hebrews 11:8.

Christ in His life on earth made no plans for Himself. He accepted God’s plans for Him, and day by day the Father unfolded His plans. So should we depend upon God, that our lives may be the simple outworking of His will. As we commit our ways to Him, He will direct our steps.

Too many, in planning for a brilliant future, make an utter failure. Let God plan for you. As a little child, trust to the guidance of Him who will “keep the feet of His saints.” 1 Samuel 2:9. God never leads His children otherwise than they would choose to be led, if they could see the end from the beginning and discern the glory of the purpose which they are fulfilling as co-workers with Him.—(The Ministry of Healing, 478, 479.)

If you have given yourself to God, to do His work, you have no need to be anxious for tomorrow. He whose servant you are, knows the end from the beginning. The events of tomorrow, which are hidden from your view, are open to the eyes of Him who is omnipotent.

When we take into our hands the management of things with which we have to do, and depend upon our own wisdom for success, we are taking a burden which God has not given us, and are trying to bear it without His aid. We are taking upon ourselves the responsibility that belongs to God, and thus are really putting ourselves in His place. We may well have anxiety and anticipate danger and loss, for it is certain to befall us. But when we really believe that God loves us and means to do us good we shall cease to worry about the future. We shall trust God as a child trusts a loving parent. Then our troubles and torments will disappear, for our will is swallowed up in the will of God.—(Thoughts from the Mount of Blessing, 100, 101.)
