그대는 선을 행하기 전에 먼저 선하게 되어야 한다

🌻생명의 향기 | 그대는 선을 행하기 전에 먼저 선하게 되어야 한다🌻

어떤 사람의 생애에 위기가 닥쳐 그대가 조언이나 권면을 주고자 할 때,

그대의 말은 선을 위한 감화를 끼치되

평소에 그대 자신의 모본과 정신이 그대를 위해 확보해 놓은 정도만큼만

끼치게 될 것이다.

 

그대는 선을 행하기 전에 먼저 선하게 되어야 한다.

그대 자신의 마음이 그리스도의 은혜로 겸허하고 순수하고 부드러워지기 전에는

다른 사람들을 변화시킬 감화력을 발휘할 수 없다.

 

그대에게 이런 변화가 이루어지면,

다른 사람들을 축복하기 위하여 생애 하는 것이

마치 장미 덩굴이 향기로운 꽃을 피우고 포도나무가 자색 포도송이를 맺는 것과 같이

자연스러울 것이다.

 

그리스도께서 그대 안에서 “영광의 소망”이 되시면,

그대는 다른 사람들을 살피며 그들의 잘못을 폭로하는 길을 걷지 않을 것이다.

비난하고 정죄하는 대신에,

도와주고 축복하고 구원하는 것이 그대의 목적이 될 것이다.

 

잘못한 사람들을 취급할 때,

“너도 시험을 받을까 두려워하라”(갈라디아서 6장 1절)는 말씀을 생각하게 될 것이다.

 

그대는 그대 역시 여러 번 잘못을 범했다는 것과

한번 바른 길에서 떠나게 되면 다시 그 길을 찾기가 얼마나 어려운지를 상기할 것이다.

 

형제를 더욱 어두운 곳으로 밀어 넣지 않고

대신 깊은 동정심을 가지고 그의 위험을 알려 주게 될 것이다.

🌻Aroma of Life | You Must be Good Before You Can Do Good🌻

 

When a crisis comes in the life of any soul, and you attempt to give counsel or admonition, your words will have only the weight of influence for good that your own example and spirit have gained for you.

 

You must be good before you can do good. You cannot exert an influence that will transform others until your own heart has been humbled and refined and made tender by the grace of Christ.

 

When this change has been wrought in you, it will be as natural for you to live to bless others as it is for the rosebush to yield its fragrant bloom or the vine its purple clusters.

 

If Christ is in you “the hope of glory,” you will have no disposition to watch others, to expose their errors. Instead of seeking to accuse and condemn, it will be your object to help, to bless, and to save.

 

In dealing with those who are in error, you will heed the injunction, Consider “thyself, lest thou also be tempted.” Galatians 6:1.

 

You will call to mind the many times you have erred and how hard it was to find the right way when you had once left it.

 

You will not push your brother into greater darkness, but with a heart full of pity will tell him of his danger.
