에녹이 어떻게 동행했는가?

 “내 눈을 열어서 주의 법의 기이한 것을 보게 하소서” (시 119:18) 

눈이 뜨일 수만 있다면,

여러분은 심령에 감명을 끼치기 위해 노력하고 있는 선한 천사들뿐 아니라

하나님께서 자비롭게도 우리에게 보내신 그 진리의 기별을 효력 없게 만들기 위해 노력하고 있는

악한 천사들도 보게 될 것이다.

에녹은 승천하기 전에 삼백 년을 하나님과 동행했는데,

그리스도인 품성을 온전케 하는 데 그 당시 세상의 형편은 오늘날보다 유리하지 않았다. 

에녹이 어떻게 하나님과 동행했는가?

그는 그가 하나님의 면전에 있다는 것을 항상 의식하도록 마음과 심령을 훈련시켰으며,

낭패한 상황에 처했을 때는 그를 지켜 주시도록 하나님께 기도를 올렸다.

그는 하나님을 불쾌 하게 할 어떤 길도 따르기를 거부했다. 

그는 “제게 당신의 길을 가르치사 저로 실수하지 않게 하소서.

제게 대한 당신의 의향이 무엇인지요?

하나님 당신을 영화롭게 하기 위해 제가 무엇을 해야 할까요?”라고 기도하곤 했다..

... 예수님은 우리에게 산 모본을 주시기 위해,

우리가 어떻게 살고, 어떻게 여호와의 길을 지킬지를 알려 주시기 위해 우리 세상에 내려 오셨다.

그분은 아버지의 형상이셨다.

아름답고 점 없는 그분의 품성은 우리의 모본으로 우리 앞에 제시되어 있다. 

우리는 예수 그리스도를 연구하고 모방하고 따라야만 하며,

그렇게 되면 우리는 그분의 사랑스러우심과 아름다움을 우리의 품성 가운데로 들여올 수 있다. 

이렇게 함으로써 우리는 믿음을 통해 하나님 앞에 서고,

암흑의 권세들과의 투쟁을 통하여 자제력, 아담이 잃어버린 하나님의 사랑을 되찾아올 수 있는 것이다.

How Did Enoch Walk

Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law. Psalm 119:18.

Could your eyes be opened, you would see not only good angels who are trying to impress hearts, but you would see also evil angels who are seeking to make of none effect the message of truth God has in mercy sent. 

Enoch walked with God three hundred years previous to his translation to heaven, and the state of the world was not then more favorable for the perfection of Christian character than it is today. 

And how did Enoch walk with God? He educated his mind and heart to ever feel that he was in the presence of God, and when in perplexity his prayers would ascend to God to keep him. He refused to take any course that would offend his God. 

He kept the Lord continually before him. He would pray, “Teach me Thy way, that I may not err. What is Thy pleasure concerning me? What shall I do to honor Thee, my God?”...

... Jesus came down to our world that He might give us a living example, that we might know how to live and how to keep the way of the Lord. He was the image of the Father. His beautiful and spotless character is before us as an example for us to imitate. 

We must study and copy and follow Jesus Christ, then we shall bring His loveliness and beauty into our character. 
In doing this we are standing before God through faith, winning back by conflict with the powers of darkness the power of self-control, the love of God that Adam lost.
