순종하는 이에게 약속하심

 “세계가 다 내게 속하였나니

너희가 내 말을 잘 듣고 내 언약을 지키면 너희는 열국 중에서 내 소유가 되겠고" (출 19:5.)

이 언약은 이스라엘에게만 주신 것이 아니요 하나님의 말씀에 순종하는 모든 이들에게 주신 것이다.

마지막 위기에 살고 있는 이들은 진리가 저들을 구주와 연합케 하는 경험을 다만 시작함에 있어서

믿음의 창조주시요 완성자이신 구주께서 저들의 믿음을 완성시킬 것을 믿어야 할 것이다.
하나님은 신실하시다. 우리들은 그의 의 안에서 그의 아들과 더불어 동반자라고 불리운다.

남녀들이 하나님과 더불어 그의 사업에서 협력할 때에

그는 저들에게 더욱 큰 힘으로 앞으로 전진하도록 능력을 주실 것이다.
저들이 하루 하루 단순한 믿음의 경험을 할 때에

하나님께서는 옛 이스라엘에게 행하시고 말씀하신 것처럼 저들을 그리스도 안에서 굳게 세우실 것이다.

“너는 여호와 네 하나님의 성민이라

네 하나님 여호와께서 지상 만민 중에서 너를 자기 기업의 백성으로 택하셨나니"(신 7:6).

... 그는 각자에게 말씀하시기를

나는 그대의 하나님이다 나와 같이 동행하라

내가 너희 앞길을 빛으로서 가득 채워 환하게 할 것이다 하신다. … 

그러나 하나님께서는 그분의 모든 계명들을 순종할 것을 요구하신다.

사람의 행복을 가능케 하는 유일한 길은 하나님 나라의 율법들을 순종하는 것 뿐이다. 

기증 받고 특권으로 주신 생명은 하나님의 선물이다.

우리 모두가 하나님께로부터 왔다는 것을 기억하고 전적으로 자원하는 심령으로 그분께 헌신하자.

Promises to Those Who Obey

Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine. Exodus 19:5. 

This pledge was given not only to Israel but to all who are obedient to God’s Word.

Those who live amid the perils of the last days may realize that just as at the beginning of their experience the truth united them to the Saviour, so He who is the author and finisher of their faith will perfect the work He has begun for them.
God is faithful, by whom we are called to fellowship with His Son.

As men and women cooperate with God in doing the work He has given them, they go forward from strength to greater strength. As they exercise simple faith, believing day by day that God will not fail to establish them in Christ, God says to them as He did to ancient Israel:

“Thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God: the Lord thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.” Deuteronomy 7:6.

... He says to each one, I am the Lord thy God. Walk with Me, and I will fill thy path with light.... 

But God requires obedience to all His commands. The only way in which it is possible for men to be happy is by rendering obedience to the laws of God’s kingdom.

Life, with its privileges and endowments, is God’s gift. Let us remember that all we have comes from God, and is to be wholly and freely consecrated to Him.
